Eat Right for Your Type [D'Adamo, Peter, Adams, Polly] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Eat Right for Your Type Review: How do you know what is good for you to eat? - We've heard "You are what you eat" but what most folks have not heard is that what you eat may be healthy for some people but unhealthy for you. This valuable book explains the what and why of how various foods are good for some but bad for others, depending on your blood type. This 25th year revision contains the complete food lists that were not in the original book so you have it all in one place. It is based on years of research by Dr. D'Adamo which actually started with his father decades ago. If you actually follow the food guidelines for your blood type it can make a huge difference in your overall health and energy level. I know that from experience. If you play with it and "cheat" a lot it won't make any difference at all. "Diet" means what you eat, not some list of things to eat to lose weight. This is not a weight loss diet, but a life style plan with food lists of the things that are beneficial (helpful) for your body and the things that are making you sick, or at lest less than as long term healthy as you should be. The great thing about this Blood Type Diet is that you will lose weight if you need to, or you will gain weight if you need to. (Yes, some people are too skinny for good health.) If you look at the "avoid" food lists and say "Oh I can't give that up. I love it!" it is possible that "it" may be what is making you sick, tired, fat, or whatever else is less than healthy. If you look at the list of "beneficial" foods and think "What delicious meals can I make with these ingredients?" you are on your way to the right path for yourself. It changed my life. This is the 3rd or 4th copy of this book I've purchased because I keep giving them away to folks who need this information and are interested enough to do the work involved. For a lot more in depth knowledge of blood type life styles, also look into Live Right 4 Your Type which is a lot more advanced in explanations and terminology. However: Eat Right is a great place to start. Review: It Works! - I am not sure that the book is 100% accurate- but I will say that it is lifechanging for my family. The author's claims that people's bodies, digestive systems, and immune systems are affected by their blood types is extremely compelling. I found that for my family, (types O and A) the information in this book was basically spot on. My family members grab this book regularly now, to see what it says about a particular food. We found a way to follow our respective diets exclusively for 5 days, and most of us felt about 50% healthier after 5 days on our respective diets- which is pretty astounding, if you think about it. I would highly recommend this book.

It Works!
I am not sure that the book is 100% accurate- but I will say that it is lifechanging for my family. The diet that makes sense--based on your blood type
I have been a health & wellness enthusiast all my life. I was a vegetarian runner and weightlifter from the age of 19 to 42. Then my health plummeted and I grieved what my body used to be and thought would never be again. Long story short, I was "diagnosed" with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which is a farce. When doctors run every test on you that is associated with fatigue and they all come back "normal", they literally tell you that you have CFS because they can't pinpoint what is causing it. I now know it's my BLOOD and the vegetarian diet I was feeding it was not what a Type O needs. We are the Original ("O" for original) blood type of the first man, who was a hunter and gatherer to survive. We need MEAT, preferably RED meat and a few other options. We also need intense physical activity, but I was unable to contine my exercise routine due to my fatigue. I felt like I was reading my own health journal when Dr. D'Adamo writes "Type O's who do not express their physical natures with appropriate activity in response to stress are eventually overwhelmed during the exhaustion stage of stress response ... this can lead to depression, fatigue or insomnia ... and if there is no change, you will leave yourself vulnerable to a number of inflammatory and autoimmune disorders"!!! That was ME. I've been on antidepressants and sleep meds for 20 years. Then I had two bouts of COVID-19 and felt like death for months. When I read this book about all four blood types--O, A, B, & AB, I realized my diet of chicken, all fish & seafood, all vegetables & fruits was not right for my blood. When I made the changes for Type O, I immediately felt a difference. There were rare times during my fatigue phase where I would eat a juicy steakhouse hamburger and feel like a million bucks the next day. I told several doctors this, and they were baffled since red meat has been criticized for its cholesterol for many years. Dr. D'Adamo is an alternative health doctor and looks to food as medicine instead of Big Pharma drugs. The book is fascinating, explaining how each blood type originated due to migration issues and adopting which foods were available in that particular region of the world. It makes sense! And each blood type had its own "fingerprint" and explains why it has particular needs and foods that will cause problems. I highly recommend this book! (I've also purchased The Type O Cookbook, which makes it even easier to follow.)

Highly recommend
First off I would have given this book a 5 star rating for the valuable information it provides, however I first purchased the Kindle edition, and several pages throughout the book are missing. Hence the 4 star. That being said, My husband has fought weight gain over the years, despite being physically active and eating what we presumed to be a balanced diet of healthy foods. After 5 weeks of following his A+ diet he has lost 17 pounds, no more heartburn or acid reflux, feels energized, and is never hungry. However, the change in diet didn't come without protests. When he looked over the food lists, and read that many of his favorite foods were on the "avoid" list, his first response was 'that's not going to happen', But, it has, and he is not looking back. I have since purchased the book in the hardcover edition, plus an extra copy to give to our family doctor. Since I have a different blood type, I have also purchased the pocket food list books for both of our blood types that we can carry with us. Whether you choose to strictly follow the recommended diet or not, this book is a valuable source of scientific info written in layman terms. Just don't get the Kindle version.

This is a book each and everyone should get. The best thing is trying to get the organic products and depending on where one is you might not get all the products that you might want to. There are also products especially fruits you have loved, but you might have to avoid, that is hard, but I think it helps. Thank you for this book

I love this book! Where has it been for 40 years of my life? I heard about this diet and life style change back in the late 1990’s, I recall an interview on TV with a famous Friends sitcom actress from American, but it was hard back in those days to find any info on the diet- we didn’t have Amazon back then ;) The way this book explains the science is fantastic and easy to follow. Learning about the human species blood groups is fascinating! It has an entire section on my Blood Type A diet, what exercises my blood type likes best, supplements, meals plans and a 10day kick start plan- and this is for all blood groups! It has case studies on patients who have used the diet to help them with a multitude of illnesses. There is even references on specific things that the blood groups should look out for and help improve if you have symptoms. I’ve been following the Type A diet since Jan 2022 and I feel great. The weight is dropping off me as I type this review. I feel healthier, no more feeling bloated, my skin looks better and I don’t miss red meat or dairy at all as I can eat certain fish, chicken and goats cheese (feta, halloumi), but I am now for the first time in my life predominately vegetarian/vegan. Lucky I live in 2022 where variety of food is so more readily available! My husband is Type O and also started in Jan. He has suffered for years with IBS, bloating and fatigue and now loves this new life style change. He eats plenty of red meat, has stopped eating wheat and dairy which has hugely improved his IBS and tiredness where no other medical prescriptions could. The weight has dropped off him and what’s even better is neither of us are having to count calories, or to stop eating carbohydrates (which is a ridiculous thing to do- and the book explains why!), or to stop eating nice things. Only the other day I ate a plant based waffle with vegan ice cream, maple syrup and strawberries on top- yum! We also purchased the Eat Right 4 Your Type recipes books which has similar meals (just substitute certain ingredients) which makes meal times easy to manage for our two very different blood type diets. There is also The Blood Type Diet app which the book talks about- we downloaded this as it has the list of all the foods and the ability to create a shopping list. Much easier than walking around the supermarket with the book. The only things I would say is you do sometimes have to check the English wording as everything is written in American English. If you don’t know your blood type group you can also purchase a test kit from Amazon! It’s easy to do the test, takes seconds! I love this book so much I’ve recommended it to all my family and friends and I would highly recommend it - even if all you do is read the contents and decide for yourself if the science is compelling enough to make you change! Happy reading!

Excelente libro. Mi inicio hacia paleo-nutrition. Ideas muy interesantes y una guía nutricional muy practica. Hoy día sigo la filosofía: eat food - Not too much - mostly plants. El libro eat right 4 your type fue el inicio. El libro usado en muy buena condición.
