RAM Mounts GPS RAM-B-238U Diamond Ball Base with B Size 1" Ball

This is a well made product. They serve their purpose well. Use them in my UTV and RV

1" ball & base pretty much sums it up, but the ball is rubberized so it grips better than just a plastic ball and the base is a standard to fit with the distance between mounting holes. But in this case the base is too big so it gets cut to fit this special application. There's a hole in the bottom-center that will accept a 1/4" bolt to give it extra strength against the torque of rotation and it gets epoxied into place after being tapped for 1/4-20. I got 2 of these and each will go into a hollow hand, the ball fitting into a socket on the forearm to finish the articulation of each arm (the elbow joint is a 2" ball for strength). I could make these, but when they're so easily available and a standard dimension with such quality, it saves a lot of effort. This is the most inexpensive of the RAM parts but worth more to me for the ease of use.

Using 2 on a dash bracket and they get the job done. Like most (though not *all*) RAM Mount products, it’s well-built and maybe even borderline overbuilt.

Always excellent products. And manufacturer stands behind product. Bought this to replace one that broke as I didn’t want to wait for RMA etc. well, RAM had my replacement not long after I received this new one and installed it.

Works great. Stays put on dashboard & you don’t have to look down to see it while driving!

I bought this to pair with a RAM arm. I really like how solid the mount is, though I deducted a star based on the black finish. It is a little sloppy and tends to flake off when tightening down bolts to a base. Other than that, super solid and heavy design.

The suction cup didn't work w/o the superglue, which I didn't want to use on my car. The mirror clap worked in my 2016 but, didn't open wide enough, plus there wasn't any surface to grip on, in my 2023 eyesight thingamajig. So I used this mount, on a piece that can be replaced, if necessary. Screwed it in and, it works so much better than the others, in my 2023 car. Plus it has a smaller profile and, takes up less space than the suction cup I was using. Bite the bullet and, find a place in a cheap, replaceable part and screw it in. Ram mounts, x grip has held every phone I have owned so far. With 360° cellphone cases. Ram mount has more options than any other mounts, imo
