Q: Is this the best knife for very crusty and heavy sour dough bread?

Yes, it is for me. It is a wonderful knife, easy to use and cuts bread and bagels with ease. I love that is it light and balanced in my hand and is wonderfully sharp!

Q: What is the width of the blade? I am looking for the dimension from the serrated edge to the flat side of the blade, at the widest point.

2 inches or 5 centimeters at widest dimension.

Q: Country of manufacture ?

Land of the Rising Sun. The phrase "Made in Japan" is printed on the box. The word "Japan" is etched on the knife.

Q: 8.5 inches for the blade or the full length of the knife? Anyone can tell me how long is the blade? Thank you!

8 1/2 from tip to rear most length of knife.......in a wood block if allowed more space will probably slide in extra half inch till handle widens.....but blade length definitely 8 1/2
