Q: can you wear this as wrap/shawl for a wedding over a dress?

I think, depending on the fabric and pattern of your dress, the scarf would be elegant. The scarf shown is beautiful and I have one exactly like it. It is very lightweight so it drapes well and it is warm as a wrap. You could fold it the long way to double the silk for a less large look. The scarf has a sheen to it. Good Luck, Jo

Q: Is this acarf satin? true satin is made by silk fibers. its hard to find that hoerver. i would like a satin shawl but in a heavier satin weave.

This is a silk shawl/saronge. It's true to it's description. I am not an expert on material, but I can tell you that its quality is great and it's beautiful. This is not a heavy material. It's lightweight. I would not use it as a beach wrap, scarf or towel. It's much too lovely for that. But it is a head turner as an accessory to wrap around yourself. Should only be washed by hand.

Dear friend, I do understand what momme is but the problem is, it's not here. I'm unable to check for you in case the weight was mentioned I remember holding it and being very pleased with the weight of it. I love silk scarves. I have many that are thin. This one will please many scarf collectors and can be used for more than one season out of the year. It's far from paper thin. I feel that there's a nice weight to it and one will have fun creating different ways to use it. I apologize if I was unable to help with my reply but I want to say that it is so beautiful; colorful, elegant. I need to revisit the website for another. Good day to all.
