Confused! the vm350 that is sold with 1 camera cannot have an additional camera added? even though the vm350 is also sold with 2 cameras?

When I received my monitor with 2 cameras the instructions said up to 4 total can be use!

Does the parent unit have a mute button, or does the volume turn completely off so you can see the video, but not hear the audio?
