I'm a tool guy and though this is strange looking nut cracker but it really works. And on so many different kind of nuts. If you play around with it, you can get to the point of cracking the shell and not breaking the meat. And solves the mess problem. Just need an separate dish to dump the shells in. And, I almost forgot, it doesn't take anywhere near the effort of those old styled crackers. It makes sense, you have one lever causing again the steel side of the "bowl". Very clever, costly but worth it.

This thing is fantastic on Havel nuts. It is made from 3 parts, all metal. It does come fully apart but can be difficult to do. Very good machine work. Fit and finish is professional. Highly recommend if you love Havel nuts. I know you can use this for all types of nuts but I haven't had that opportunity yet. Will update when I do.

I have one previously that I bought in Sweden but with another name and three times the price. This one is identical and also made in Sweden. These nutcrackers are the best, especially for smaller nuts, but do work also for walnuts. Very easy to use, even for children. And do not crush the nut inside, only the shell. I have tried many types of nutcrackers, these ones are by far the best.

A durable nutcracker that does well on hazelnuts. It requires less effort to crack the harder hazelnut shell and doesn't pinch my hand the way the lobster cracker style does. It's not as messy. Shell fragments don't fly across the room, but stay inside the cracker until the nut is dumped out. Occasionally a piece of shell jammed in it.
