Is it plastic or glass?

The outer casing is acrylic, which more resembles plastic than glass. It's a little more durable than glass and safer for the little ones!

Is it safe for children to use? Will it break if it falls on the floor?

No very hard plastic and quite durable.. I have toddlers who throw it about everywhere, so far so good
