Enjoyed all 3 very much
I decided to read these 3 after reading the 50 shades trilogy which I enjoyed & figured even if they were similar that's fine considering in one way or another love stories are always similar. By the time I got to the 2nd book I was hooked. I really can not see how the book is entirely like 50 shades. These characters are very different and considering in many ways they are equally messed up (Eva & Gideon) in the head from various issues from their childhood it creates a lot of depth that you don't always see in 50 shades. The sex is mutual & written in a way that you know they both want it as much as the other without hesitation they seem to need each other & lust after one another. One thing you do see is the constant ups & downs which seem to be extreme to the point of frustration. Eva's character can be exhausting and Gideon seems to hide so much that you find yourself waiting through chapters to find the answers to your questions making it a book you can't put down. The last book ending the way it did makes you want more & the fact that I bought it thinking it was a trilogy and yet it isn't is my only complaint because now I have to wait for their story to continue. I very much look forward to the next book and am now a fan of Sylvia Day.Edited to add: I am now reading this series for the 3rd time in hopes that the 4rth book comes out soon. This series never get's old and I have never reread any other book like this. These characters are so well written & after reading so many books after 50 Shades with powerful men, hands down Gideon is the best there is.

Pretty Awful, Don't Bother
I wanted to like these books. I'm 100% a fan of romance and smut and dirty sex and fun. So I'm the perfect audience for this genre of book. Similar to 50 Shades of Gray, the characters make no sense and don't function like humans actually would. I get that the situations they're in are fantastical, but they just seem to whine and literally go over the same situation over and over again. I didn't finish the last book (and it takes a lot for me not to finish a book because not knowing how it ends irritates me), but these books were so redundant and frankly, unsatisfying, that I had no motivation to finish reading them. I found myself disliking every character, which makes no sense. I couldn't figure out why the rock star ex was even being discussed. Or why there was any dilemma about them being together. I spent a good bit of time thinking "that's not how any of this goes" until I finally decided to let go and let God. The only positive mark is that the writer attempts to delve into serious matters about child abuse. I don't think the writer did a good job discussing that topic, but she tried. Overall, not good at all. Save your money and buy anything else!

Not as good as FSoG but still a winner
I just finished the first three books in the Crossfire Series. I loved Fifty Shades of Grey and wanted something in the same tone and found this one. I liked a lot of things about this book. The characters were well developed and had strong chemistry. I also really enjoyed some of the secondary characters and found they really added to the story to give a breather from the intensity of the relationship between the two main characters. There were heart wrenching moments that had me holding back tears but I felt that sex came to quickly to try to overcome the challenges- I wanted Eva to stand up for herself and not cave in so quickly! I was invested in the story and wanted to know what was going to happen which kept me turning page after page. I do feel that it could be ended at book three and be done. I am not sure I want to continue on the roller coaster through the next books but I am sure I will because I am invested at this point! There was a lot of good in this book- give it a chance but don't go into thinking your are going to get another Fifty! It is a good story and I would read it again!

An intimate look into a truly dysfunctional relationship. Read to learn what NOT to do when you are in love.
Comparing this book to 50 Shades is insulting to EL James and Christian Grey. Eva is a headcase; if I were Gideon, I'd just move along rather than deal with her oh-so-mature ultimatums, which are a classic sign of brilliant communicators. For example, Eva asks him what his nightmares are about and when Gideon hesitates to discuss it, she leaves him...in the middle of the night and goes home. This is one of many examples of how messed up these characters are. They speak to each other only when their body parts are connected-another sign of a great relationship. The sweaty post-gym tryst was gross, too, especially when he goes South and that's okay, sans a good shower. Lastly, Christian Grey has 'people', Hudson Pierce has 'people', but Gideon Cross has...a driver. Wait, what? If I were a billionaire, I'd have an ARMY working for me. Not Gideon. He runs home to fetch Eva's toiletries so she can stay at the hospital with Cary. I guess no one in NYC needs a job as his personal assistant. I forgot how good the economy is.

New and Hot for Sylvia Day
I read 3 chapters of 50 Shades and thought it was written by an 18 yr old! DISLIKED IT! All my girlfriends were IN LOVE! NOPE NOT ME!Until a co-work shared the same feeling about 50 Shades. She introduced me to Bared to You. I said, Not now... Well for my birthday September 2014 I wanted a new book series to read. My girlfriend reminded me of Sylvia Day! So I purchase this Book set of 3! On the first night I was on Chapter 8 and I couldn’t keep it down! I was giddy, hot, and all the feelings that Eva was feeling! I had complete visual of the story placement in my head because Sylvia did such a great job on describing everything so well! I recommend this book 1,000 times over any book! It also reminded me I have my own Mr. Cross. He is tall, dark and amazingly beautiful as well. I am very luck to share the reads with him! Thank you Sylvia…

Well worth a read
Very enjoyable, I'm chomping on the bit for the next 2 books. There's a lot left unresolved after the first 3, who swapped the bracelet & got the mob involved? I don't think we've seen the last of Corinne especially when it comes to the wedding. Also, I don't think we've dealt with Cross's past completely.Again, as I've said in other reviews, it's a formula with a story built around it.I personally don't care this is the formula, it's why I read such stories but this book does that well within an interesting storyline.Yes it's based on a formula, but, isn't that sort of plot the reason you're reading this book?I'll admit it, I enjoy reading a book where girl meets boy, either both or one of them has significant flaws but they work through them, he's rich & treats women with respect, a real gentleman, it's a very passionate & lustful relationship with details of the sex not withheld, there's always a true friend just trying to look out for her/his friend & an antagonist of an ex, some major problems get in the way which usually means arguments & a sad mid relationship break ups, one or both parties has a hallelujah moment, BUT, ultimately, love wins, there's a happy ending.Yes this book is that format but that's why I enjoyed it, that's my modern day Fairytale knight saves girl, I'll admit it.

Love it Eva and Gideon
Love it Eva and Gideon. Borrowed first two books from library then they didn't stock 3rd book. Watched kindle price for months and this was on offer for just inder £10 so bought it.Really enjoyed re reading the first two books. My only concern is that Sylvia seems to write so many different series that we seem to wait a long time for the 4th book. So many good books available to read on kindle may forget to check when new book out which would be a shame.Come on Sylvia get writing to finish th series.

Audiobooks
Audiobooks: I bought the trilogy of audiobooks last year, but have only just listened to them,to recap the story before finally reading Captivated By You The reader is American,as seems to always be the case with these books, but unlike the reader of the Shades trilogy, she does not have a particularly whiny voice/accent ,so for that alone,I enjoyed these more ! ( I am not badmouthing the Yank accent,I have a lot of lovely US relatives ! )

it started up ok....
It started up ok but towards the end things were fallen into the pattern of Argue - sex - argue - sex .... And I got so board. At the end I was almost convicted that so called their love is only happening at lower limbs. I can't stop thinking that their mental connection is too shallow and they are only trying to cover the flaw with their hard physical relationship. I was kind of disappointed that the author fail to describe their deep mental connection between them very well.
