40063: Molle Knife Sheath

I have a EkModel 4 dagger made br KaBar. I wanted a sheath without the guard lock that came on the stock Ek sheath as it makes you push out on the handle and bend the sheath to get the blade out. The Rothco sheath fits the bill. Is it prefect fit? No but for a $19.00 sheath that has more built in carry options versus a $30 stock sheath + $15 shipping that I would have to modify to eliminate the lock and then buy carry attachments or $75 for custom kydex … yeah it’s well worth it the money! Here some details: The Dual retention straps fit around the handle snug. The knife will move out of the scabbard if pulled or shaken vigorously upside but not enough to expose the sharpened edge. You can tell the liner was molded for a single edged blade with a thicker spine but this doesn’t impede its use for the double edged Ek. I haven’t tried using the Molle as for what it is designed for but top stap allows for conventional belt carry. The lower strap can be configured for a high “sword” style carry. Just to be tactical if you run the Molle through your belt loops and use the Velcro strap that came with mine you can Scout carry. The “Sharping Stone” pocket is generously sized … enough to accommodate my 3.87” blade folder! One durability “issue” is the tactical black paint covering the chrome snap button come of rather easily… so 4 3/4 stars? Not a dealbreaker for me … your mileage may vary! All in all I say it a good buy for my usage.

Giving it 4 stars because it's a really nice product. Unfortunately it doesn't fit either a k-bar (snaps too short) or a Smith and Wesson M9 bayonet (won't go in all the way). Very nice sheath if you have something that fits.

Straps wont fit Kbar handle

The straps that have the snaps that go around the handle of the knife and secure the knife are not long enough to accommodate my KABAR’s handle…Standard KABAR handle.

Fits BOTH my dagger with 6.5 blade and my 7.5 inch blade knife. Great sheath!

Could not use the hardshell scabbard that came with knife so have been looking literally for years for a better solution. This is it! No experience yet with durability or sturdiness but it appears well made for my purposes. The M9 fits real tight inside this product and that is fine because I mount the knife upside-down. The snaps around the handle fit tightly as well.

The Rothco Mille knife sheath barely fit the Humvee Bowie Knife on sale, but the handle snaps are a bit to small, but I’m sure it’ll fit the 6” blade Bowie knife from harbor freight, the original Humvee Bowie’s sheath is so low quality I’ve been scheming to get a new sheath ever since I reclaimed it from my Dad’s barn. I wanted to re acquaint myself with being a former 11 Bravo and what it means to be a veteran from a previous era, and bought surplus load bearing gear with “MOLLE” attachment: That’s what got me into the Rothco Sheaths.

I’m very happy with this product. I recommend it especially if you have a sewing machine my only problem with The product is not necessarily with the product. It is the fact that I use it for every day carry, and there is a couple problems that I had, but with my sewing machine, I was able to fix One of the straps I cut off completely another one. I just sewed on a little bit better the third one I cut and re-sold the fourth one I cut and flipped and then I also added a leg strap and a piece of Velcro to connect to belt loop highly recommend.
