These are great for use after shaving with a blade and also for use as an antiperspirant. For shaving it serves as an antiseptic and astringent. It will usually stop small weepers. An an antiperspirant, it doesn't stain my shirts they way most regular deodorant does. I really like the plastic container. The top screws on firmly which is great for travel. If you drop one of these alum blocks onto a tile floor it will shatter, so you need to be careful.

I've used one of these since I started using a double edge razor about 6 months ago, and it's a much needed, and helpful tool to have. For beginners, it helps with bleeders, and then as you refine your technique, it helps you realize where you are irritating your face (because it burns). I generally use mine after every shave, as it tightens up the skin, and stops any bleeding nicks that I might have.Just based on my use so far, I'm guessing that one of these will last at least 2 years. It barely looks like it has been used, and is over 6 months old.

When I started shaving with a double-edge razor, I read a lot about how you should use an alum block after shaving to seal up any nicks and cuts. Once I saw the RazoRock, I knew this was the one I wanted, because I could seal it up and take it along on trips. It works as advertised, and if you want to use an alum block, this is definitely the way to go.That said, after a few tries, I got used to double-edged shaving and doing proper face prep beforehand, and haven't really needed the alum block since. If this is your first alum block, go ahead and just get one of them to start. Then if you do continue to use it, get the 2-pack later.

I like alum blocks. They're compact, easy to use, versatile and will last a lot. This version is even better than generic rectangular blocks, it's easier to handle and store because you'll less likely make it wet by putting for example on a wet shelf.One minor downside - you'll have to push a bit more to put cap firmly.

Although this is kind of marketed as an aftershave I use it as a styptic pencil. If I do get a nick or cut, I run this under water and rub it on the cut and it seals up instantly. Works great and does the job. Better than getting a piece of toilet paper to put over your cut or wound! This package comes with two and a little sampler of shave oil. I use Art of Shaving pre-shave oil so I haven't tried the sample. I think these two blocks will last me several years.
