GREAT FOR CRAFT SHOWS & WEDDINGS
I got these lights for my craft show setups to add some bling-bling and attract the attention of customers. You can't always count on having an outlet at craft shows (or have to pay extra for electricity hookups). They have worked great so far! They were long enough for my vertical displays with some left to weave through my table displays. I have had three events so far, 6-8 hours each, and they are still running on the same batteries. (I use several of the blinking modes.) They have taken all the rough handling of packing, unpacking, quick setup, and transport without breaking - something the cheaper ones can't do. Yes, the battery pack is big - if you want a long-lasting light show this is necessary - and I have had no trouble hiding it. I came back to buy more for a friend's wedding to decorate vertical columns with no extension cords to trip over, and I already know they will last long enough to shine through the wedding and reception.

Look like fireflies
This is a bit complicated. I finally received my string of lights the following day, after the USPS said they had delivered the lights to my mailbox the previous day (they didn't). Anyway, I got the lights (50 ft string) and began to unfold them from the collapsed bundle. The LED lights are small, but once I got them placed on my porch railing and into the side bushes, they twinkled very nicely - looking much like the fireflies from my childhood in Ohio. The power box takes 3 D-size batteries. I ordered another set to place on my front bushes.Left the lights blinking from about 2 in the afternoon until late evening (~10:00 pm). Came home at about 8:00 pm and they were still twinkling, but when I checked to turn them off at 10:00 pm, they were off. Wasn't sure if the batteries were drained already or what. Read the directions and found out there is a built in 6 hour time limit.

The lights themselves are nice and have a soft white glow
I bought these lights to use on small bushes outside of my house. Since they are supposed to be indoor/outdoor I bought them. There are two reasons why I don't really care for these lights.1) The box that houses the batteries is much larger than I realized and, in a small bush is hard to camouflage. The box is also somewhat heavy with the 3 D batteries. 2) The instructions indicate that they should not be used where they may be subjected to heavy rain or snow. The lights themselves are nice and have a soft white glow. Also as an FYI, I didn't see anywhere on the packaging that these lights are UL approved.

Wire snaps at box connection 1 yr old.
I had these on my mailbox last Christmas and they were great. The batteries lasted until just about the time it got too light outside to keep them on anyway. It was great. This year, after storing them in the house, I went to put them back on the mailbox and the wire snapped right where it connects to the battery box. it looks like the wire was too stiff and after bending at that kink point they just snapped off. I was so mad because I had just wrapped the entire mailbox. Now I have to pull them all off. If I had wire strippers and a sodder I could fix it but I don't so, unfortunately, these are going to need to be trashed. I'm sad because its always really dark here starting at 3 and it was nice to light up the end of my driveway.

Pleasantly surprised with the battery operated lights.
I was skeptical about these lights, but they have done very well on my front gate where there is no access to outlets. I have four strings, and they batteries are just fading after a month of use in wet weather. I did put the battery packs in plastic bags before securing to the fence. The instructions are almost comical - a poor translation to English, but the produce use was pretty self-explanatory. I've ordered four more for use where I don't want electrical cords plugged in. All in all a decent purchase. I'm curious to see how many seasons they last.

Nothing short of amazing!
These are nothing short of amazing. I turned them on the automatic setting at 5pm the night I put them out and they have been reliably turning on for almost 2 months. They have been outside and endured temps in the teens and torential rain. (I did put the battery pack in a gallon ziploc bag to protect it.) The lights are not super bright, but bright enough, and the color is a warm white.I highly recommend these, and because most of the reviews were from people who had received them on promotion, I wanted to write an indepedent review.

Failed in first light rain & timer feature is not to my liking
A couple problems with this unit. First, I really don't like the integrated timer feature rather than having a separate timer button (on, 6 hr, 12 hr) and separate mode button on the battery pack as other units I've purchased have. It just isn't as user friendly as others -- I want to be the one to decide if I have it on timer mode & the duration. Second, in a very mild rain the lights stopped working almost immediately and did not work again until I brought all the lights & unit back inside and dried off the battery compartment. So does not seem to be a good choice for outdoor lighting as described. Would not buy again. Very disappointed.

The best string lights
I am the queen of lights , indoor and outdoor and these are fabulous. I have them on trees outside and also inside. Easy to use, with different modes. No cords anywhere, batteries are the easies to use.
