Great product low energy and lot's of light, looks great to

I like the looks of it, and even better that for the look you are not trading of brightness or efficiency. I have it on a clear lamp shade, so having a bulb that is nice to look at is a big plus. It is plenty bright, the colour would be even better if it was a tad whiter, but not a deal breaker to us. Speaking of breaking, this is not glass, so won't break as easily. I haven't noticed any flickering. I can't comment too much on durability, it is rated for 15 thousand hours, so should be okay for a long time.

In a bid to save energy I've been gradually going through all my lightbulbs and replacing them to LED equivalents. I bought some cheaper ones in the past, as I don't like having to pay such higher prices. I bought a cheap 'made in China' set of LED lights and although they were very bright, they gave out such a horrible cold light. It wasn't even blue/daylight - it was an off putting grey tinge to the light. It just made the room look depressingly cold and un-appealing. I therefore changed my light bulb for this Philips LED classic light bulb. It's reminiscent of the old incandescent light bulbs, that are sadly no longer available due to the amount of energy they consume. This Philips light bulb does a fairly decent job, it's nice and bright and it gives out a much more pleasing glow. The only problem is I can hear a noticeable hum coming from the light bulb when it is on. I'm quite sensitive to noise and I seem to be able to detect frequencies that are in audible to ordinary humans, so it might be just me! - My wife can't hear it at all, and it doesn't seem to bother her. Maybe I've just been sent a faulty bulb, and if I had a replacement it may not hum at all. So in conclusion I would hesitantly recommend if you don't mind the humming!!

Great colour and buzz, proper vintage style

Bought in Dec 2023 for my son's room. It's just started flickering and has blown. It was nice and bright and complimented his lampshade really well. I thought it'd last longer though.

100w version makes an extremely loud buzzing sound (no, it's not wrongly used with a dimmer switch when it's non-dimmable). This is bad design. I believe it's caused by the bulb's internal AC to DC conversion circuitry to run the LEDs because it's like a mains hum/buzz and only is an issue with the higher wattage versions. Unless your light fitting is really far away from where you'll hear it, I do not recommend you buy the 100w version until Philips addresses this. Philips is a top brand and should not be putting things on the market like this. The many 25w, 40w, 60w and 75w versions of this Philips range I have around the house are all silent. Otherwise, would've been a good bulb with perfect warm white and retrofit design/shape for an incandescent or halogen bulb.

Bought some supermarket equivalents to these but they both failed one after the other when the metal bit with the bayonet fitting detached from the glass. Worth spending the extra for these.

Très satisfait de cette ampoule Philips. L’éclairage est puissant tout en restant agréable grâce à une belle couleur blanc chaud.
