Great for adults as well as children.
I purchased this as a gift for an 11 year old boy. He told me that he reads it at home in the evening, takes it to school and reads it there when he has time. It is a very large book with the most interesting facts displayed in a short version a d easy to read.

Great Book. We love all of them!
My little guy loves reading this book and sharing all his new facts with us. I love it because he is reading and learning as opposed to playing on his electronics. It is nice that he can pick it up, turn to a page, and start reading facts. GREAT for kiddos with a short attention span that are not going to sit and read for long periods of time. Grabs their attention and educational.

Great book for kids or adults
This book says nat geo kids but I bought it for my special needs brother who is 27 and loves fast facts. There's stuff in here that I didn't even know! This is a great find!! It's easy to digest but it's not too childish or condescending either. This is apparently part 3. I'm going to get the other parts as well for separate gifts for him for a different occasion.

Good quality, overwhelming layout
My sons loves “o-pedia” books from National Geographic. This one was much harder to read though. Quality is great. Pictures are great. But some pages are literally filled up with tiny words from one edge to the other. It’s cool to look at and see all these facts but hard for a child to read (I think it’s overwhelming for them). Facts are divided by category which is awesome but it just didn’t get much reading around here. Maybe for a kid over 11/12 it would be better. So while 5,000 facts is a lot to pack into a book I think a child would do better with 1,000 facts.

My Granddaughters love this book
I purchased this book for my Granddaughters (age 8&9 yo). We spend time when together learning about the many facts about our planet, animals and so much more. It really makes them think and encourages them to learn more and ask many questions.
