supersmooth surface
A sheet of Rhodia paper, in my experience, is thick, precisely lined or gridded, and produced with superb quality control. It's good stuff. These pads are well designed so the cover folds back easily and sheets tear out easily. It has a super smooth, almost ice-like writing surface so your (esp foutain) pen just skates easily over the surface. The downside of the surface is that it absorbs ink very very slowly. It's very easy to smear fresh writing and don't simply fold a written page over or it'll blot onto the cover. This realy is a fine paper and again, for a fountain pen, shows your nib and ink variations wonderfully well.
