I read this to my children and bought it again recently as a present. Simple story and attractive pictures and would appeal to any small child.

I remembered reading this to my kids back in the early Nineties and fast forward to now my Granddaughter of Fifteen months loves this book. Beautifully written by the ever popular Shirley Hughes with wonderfully accurate illustrations I'm sure every child would love following Alfie's feet into the puddles and every parent would identify with the text.
