Smooth, Precise, and Perfect for Everyday Writing!
The Pilot Precise V5 Capped Liquid Ink Pens are fantastic! The extra fine 0.5 mm point makes writing crisp, clean, and precise — perfect for detailed notes, journaling, or professional work. The liquid ink flows smoothly without skipping, and the black color is bold and consistent. I love that the pens feel comfortable in the hand and are easy to control for long writing sessions. Having a pack of 4 is also convenient — I always have a spare ready when I need it. These pens combine quality, reliability, and smooth writing in one.

Great pen!!
Hands-down, my favorite pens, and I don’t know that I will ever use any others. It says roller ball, but I feel like it writes more like a felt tip pen. I may be crazy, but I swear this helps my penmanship. lol

Great pens, just needs decent paper
These Pilot Precise V7 pens are my go-to. The liquid ink flows super smooth, and the fine 0.7 mm tip writes clean and sharp without feeling scratchy. The black ink is really dark and consistent, which makes writing feel really satisfying. Only thing to keep in mind is that because it's liquid ink, it can bleed through or feather a little on cheaper paper. On good quality paper though, it looks perfect. The pens are comfortable to hold for long writing sessions and the cap feels secure. If you like smooth, clean writing and don’t mind using better paper, these are hard to beat.

great pens
Great pens, I've been using this brand for 10 years they are long-lasting, very solid, with great quality, and even some that I did not use in over 5 years that I had in storage still worked beautifully as if they just came off the store shelf.

-(((The only pen needed)))-
Listen, I been buying these pilot V5 pens since 1988 when I picked one up for the first time. Since then, these are the only pens I buy. Period. One could argue that there are in fact better writing pens out there. But, this is the pen I have grown to love, gotten use to using, and know exactly what to expect. They are perfect for me. And even though my hands are aging, these pens do not. Do I get a leaky one every once in a while? Yep! Do I care? Nope! Cause these are still my favorite. In every bag of chips there will always be that one burnt over cooked chip. I’m not going to change my favorite chip brand because that one chip in the bag. I love the design of the fine needle tip and the clear visuals on the body. You always know exactly how much ink you have left, without that surprise of an empty pen. You can get these with many different colors. And no matter what color you choose, they always write very smooth. The flow of ink and the needle tip is perfect for those of us that prefer writing very tiny. I find these pens dependable, and when something is dependable, it’s durability is never a question. I hear people say how they have managed to bend the needle tip, on these pens, but unless they are writing with bricks tied around their hands, dropping the pen on the concrete without the cap, or sitting down on this in your back pocket…. I just can’t see how they could manage to be so heavy handed. And to be quite honest here, I have never in 37 years of using these, have I ever bent one of the needles. Maybe those people should just stick to crayons. Could I give you a number on how many of these I have used throughout the years? No! Easily in the high hundreds? A thousand? I don’t know. Could I imagine them being better in some ways? Definitely. These aren’t made to be refilled, and even though it is possible to do it, they just aren’t designed for it. I would love to be able to unscrew the tip off easily and refill it. I also wouldn’t mind seeing a completely clear version of the V5 without all the body paint. I did find another Japanese brand that makes a clone version of the V5 in a completely clear body and it was beautiful, but I just can’t turn my back on this original. Maybe one day Pilot will release a clear refillable version in my honor. We will call it the (Memorial V5). If you work for “Pilot” please pass the word. But until that day comes, this regular V5 will always be close at hand. Now did I need to write this review? No. Do I feel it will sway anybody’s opinion on this pen? Probably not. But I hope it helps somebody that may have never used one and wants to know just how nice these are to use. The V5 is an icon in my home. And it might just become one in yours. Just don’t ask to borrow mine.

I write a lot and this'll be my new go-to pen until it isn't
They are brand new to me today; I'll give them 5 stars for now. - I've been using Precise V5 since I was a baby...no wait...maybe 10 years or 7. Love them, but failing eyesight needs wider ink so I'm trying 0.7s for the first time in my life. It's going to take time to adjust to seeing what I'm writing. I also just bought the never used Sharpie S-Gel 0.7. They're pretty close. Width: Precise V7: Very slightly narrower Width: Sharpie S-Gel V7: Very slightly wider Durability: Probably Sharpie S-Gel V7. Solid outer body. Durability: A negative for Precise V5 (I'm guessing V7 also): Burst open & leak when handles after flying high altitude. Flow from Start: Important bonus for Precise V7. A good start is critical in writing. No disruption, go. Flow from Start: Sharpie: Mine often lags in ink flow at start (dry ball?) ... Writing fiction I want to dive in, not take the stairs. Feel: For me Precise V7 puts the icing on the cake (no I wouldn't put that in my fictional work). It flows. Feel: The Sharpie S-Gel's V7 is a great pen, but ballpoint pens greatly interrupt and lag behind my mind. I give a decided preference to the Pilot V7. It starts flowing immediately and feels smooth and free as it goes along with my mind. However I've had several Pilot 0.5s start leaking from high altitude flying.
