My 6 year old refrigerator is useless now, and it has been 3 weeks (and counting) that I've been waiting on LG to take care of it as it is still under warranty.3 weeks ago my fridge/freezer stopped working (it was warm inside). I got an outside repair person to look at it for $70 who told me the evaporator unit died and had leaked out all the coolant. The part was still under warranty (year 6 of a 7 year warranty) so I needed to get LG to take care of it.I called LG, told them the part I needed to have replaced. Their technician could not come to my house for a week and 2 days. So we sat for 1 1/2 weeks with no refrigerator/freezer, and we are a family of 5.When the technician arrived, 2 minutes into the $125 visit, he told me that we needed to replace the evaporator unit (which I already knew and told them a wee prior) and that the part was discontinued and out of stock. So - basically, we have a totally dead fridge. He told me that they would buy the refrigerator back from me (original price about $1,500) but it would take 5 days to process the paperwork. We couldn't go another week without a refrigerator so we bought a Whirlpool from Best Buy (love Best Buy, great people!).After the 5 day wait to be reimbursed for our useless 6 year old fridge, LG never called. So I contacted them to see what is happening, and they say they will give us $600 and are NOT going to haul away the dead fridge. Huh?So 6 years ago we spent $1,500 on a new fridge, and we paid $195 on servicing it and will need to now pay to have it hauled away and disposed of, and the warranty pay out is $600.OH - and it is Monday and they don't cut checks until Fridays, so you guessed it, we have to wait yet another week for our check.WHAT A JOKE!

3 out of 4 of my LG products died or broke within 3 years of ownership
This LG refrigerator is 2 years and 2 months old for us. The ice machine has died. Checked the waterline and reset everything to LG specifications...still nothing. My 2.5-year-old LG TV had half of the LEDs go out. LG at first offered to help and then refused...My 2 years and 2-month-old $1,000 LG dishwasher suffered a catastrophic failure that required a new diverter/pump...that wasn't covered under the warranty since it was the "main" pump.DO NOT EVER BUY LG ANYTHING!

DO NOT BUY
The control board died after just a year and a half. Manufacturer not willing to do anything about it. Do not recommend.
