Great tool
I bought it for digging holes. Did the job, but I wish it was a little longer.

It worked
Greta tool and did exactly what I needed it to do, make a hole 2 feet down in hard soil.

Too short
It’s too short for what I was using it for

a very useless tool for planting even the smallest of flowers or foliage
The pointed auger drill bit that is supposed to pierce the ground has no sharpness to it, rendering the whole piece useless. I have never been so disappointed in a gardening tool.

Works but you're going to work
Just dug 80 holes with this manual auger. My soil was hard, dry, and the trick was to use a 4 lb plastic mallet to start. After a small hole was started (and no more progress was to be easily made), I filled the hole with water and let it soak a half hour. Things sped up after that. That's not to say roots and rocks didn't cause me to move a hole a bit, but it did the trick. To be sure, you are going to need to put in effort. It is easy to use, but downgraded because YOU have to do the work (not a fault of the auger). Fairly sturdy, but downgraded due to hardware (bolts and wingnuts are of inferior quality), in spite of the fact that it held up to beating I gave it.Overall, a good buy.

Task complete
Very easy to use. No brainers. Sturdy. My soil isn't the hardest but it definitely can be used for my purpose. I was impressed. Even though it looks n feels sturdy by its weight, for example, the result when used was what made me satisfied I bought it. I received it about 1-2 weeks now but couldn't review without putting it to the ground. Probably not for terribly hard earth. I think it's worth it

Not suggested for a decent size project
This would be a good tool for gardening or if you just need a hole or 2 dug.
