Lexar USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive 128GB

I recently purchased the Lexar 128GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive and I have been absolutely thrilled with its performance. This is hands down one of the best flash drives that I have ever used, and it has quickly become an essential tool in my digital toolkit. What sets this flash drive apart is its versatility and compatibility. The USB A and USB C/Type C dual drive OTG feature means that it can work with a wide range of devices, including both traditional USB ports and newer USB-C ports. I love this little drive. I was surprised by how small it actually is. It works really well, has lots of space, and gets lost on my desk all of the time because of it’s size. My problem, not Lexar’s! The only issue I have (and I’ve had it with other cards) is the transfer rate from my iPad to the card is sometimes slow. I went from an iPad Air 3rd generation to an iPad 11 Pro 3rd generation and I think it’s a IOS problem. It just cannot handle multiple or large files very well. It times out and I get a “disconnected” error. As is usually the case, I find work arounds, such as using cloud services to back up to (and then download it from there), or compressing video files down to smaller (lower quality). I’ve also learned to take more, shorter, videos than 1 long one. Filming a graduation? Find break points and stop recording, and then start again right away. This breaks up files into smaller ones that are easier to transfer. Anyway, back to the Lexar memory stick. Overall, it works and does what it’s supposed to do. I would recommend it if you need extra storage space for a device with a USB-A or USB-C interface.

Quite small, very fast, uses USB A and USB C types. I have two of these types of swivel flash drives, and this one is noticeably small, which is great. I keep this in my Steam Deck case.

I bought four of these and used one for starters. It got to work right away, copying files online and without incident. I find that reviews submitted about these products, when they are asked for within hours of delivery, are never surely reliable because this kind of product, if flawed, show flaws after the review is written. I have no reason at this time to think that these are flawed, but readers need to be aware. I picked this product vs. others because others were flawed after just a couple of weeks (well-known brands, too) and I'm hoping the Lexar products will be much more stable. Heat level is tolerable, value is good, storage capacity is just right for my needs.

Had my doubts. Doubts shattered. My only concern is losing it because of its compact-ness.

Small nimbo and hardly noticeable. You probably lose this in your stack of USB drives, so make sure you attach a lanyard to this or some type of identification. I've found myself almost losing this a bunch of times in my drawer. That said it does what it says it needs to do save data. It's very lightweight fits type C's and type a overall. Very happy with this product and it's very robust aside from almost getting lost every time I try to look for it

Please note that the drive I recevied, the USB C side of the drive is shorter in length than the stardard and typical USB C prong. Meaning, when you insert the USB C into a female plug, i doesn't engarge and fully insert and thus is inoperable. Because of the small size, I planned to use this USB C drive in a Honda car factory stereo to play MP3 music. It fit very loosely because it wasn't long enough to engage the input and as a result the stereo could read the drive. I even tried in on my phone and the same thing, never would engage the input. Other than that, the drive seemed very well built, stong metal, and was reasonably fast read/write on the USB A side.

I'm constantly traveling for work and this drive has been incredibly useful. With the USB-C I can quickly and easily move photos or documents from my phone to another computer without having to email or upload to a cloud service. Very convenient when I need to print documents from a hotel lobby on the go. It is tiny, which I like, but I did lose the first one I purchased. I tied a small lanyard on the replacement and it's been workhorsing strong for a couple years now. Highly recommend.

Form factor is great, I love the compact swivel design. Impressive speeds, however sustained writes are only around 40MB/s as shown by H2testw (which is still pretty good). I previously owned a 128GB SanDisk dual OTG drive which had painfully slow R/W speeds and so-so build quality, this Lexar is much better. Overall this drive is probably overpriced, but the speed and form factor made it worth it buying for me.

I've had this thumbdrive for over a year now. 8 months ago I left it in my pocket and it went through the wash (HE Front load washer, in the case you'd also like to test this! lol). Both USB-C and USB-A ports work perfectly and the speed is not impacted. 10/5 Stars. If only more electronics were built like this...
