Does what it should. Feels sturdy. And the wooden handle looks great.

Really nicely made, solid hardwood handle, blade/spike appears to be tough and hard.

I bought this for leather working and also to make holes for crocheting tea towels. This awl is a perfect length and circumference for many projects. The handle is riveted to help grasp it firmly and has a metal tap on top if you need to deepen an indention using a hammer. Great price and fast shipping!

I ordered this several weeks in advance of a book binding project. Unfortunately I ripped and ruined a whole signature of expensive watercolour paper before noticing that the awl has a bevelled rather than tapered tip. Being too wide above the 1/4 inch tip this awl is not suitable for making holes in signatures, As I ordered this product several weeks before using it I can’t return it. Disappointing.
