fl oz not accurate.
I was delighted when I received this scale, unboxed it, put in the batteries, and checked the calibration. My cal. weights are in grams, and the scale read spot on from 5 to 100 gr.But the scale has weird units in that in addition to grams and pounds & ounces, it also "weighs" milliliters and fluid ounces (of both water and milk). Now I know that a ml of H2O weighs 1gm, and sure enough the weight in gm's is the same as ml's of water (ml's of milk is less, but I don't know the density of milk so I can't say if it's accurate.) I also know that a fl. oz. of H2O weighs an ounce, and sure enough when I pour two cups of water onto the scale and I'm weighing lbs and oz's it reads 1lb or 16oz. HOWEVER I don't really want to weigh pounds and ounces, I would rather the scale read 20oz than 1lb 4oz BUT when I change the units to fluid ounces of water it reads 15.3??? WHY?I know the scale is calibrated because it reads grams and pounds & ounces correctly. Why is it under weighing fluid ounces?I don't even think a scale should "weigh" fluid ounces, because fluid ounces are not units of mass or weight. But it does do a correction for milk vs water and perhaps some people would find that useful if it was correct to begin with BUT IT ISN'T.Still for what I want to do, it will work. I'm just glad I noticed the discrepancy before it mattered.
