A little blue goes a long way
Basically I bought this to jazz up my homemade electrolyte drink. I didn't notice any taste of the ocean but then I used it with unsweetened coconut water. Included is a picture of my 1oz pkg of spirulina next to a can of chickpeas. I wasn't paying too much attention to the size. So this product is pricy but I'd buy it again for the natural dye.

Great product but messy
My wife mixes it in our German shepherd's dog food. My two Shepherds seem to like it but this stuff is such fine powdered it gets everywhere. It should be sold in a plastic bottle, not a plastic bag. Trying to scoop this stuff out gets everywhere.

I couldn't wait to get this... It makes my drink so pretty and the health benefits are amazing. I did it expect it to be bigger. Easy to use, not gritty and love the seal on the package.

Brilliant blue!
I bought this Spirulina powder to color items for an upcoming birthday party. I wanted a natural alternative to artificial dyes but with blue color. I put 1/4 top in a glass of milk and blended it up to see if it would color it sufficiently and whether it would taste odd.To my surprise, the small amount changed the color of the milk significantly blue. Obviously it is pastel because it started out white, but there was strong enough color that I think it will be perfect for what I plan to use it for. There's no smell, and in my opinion no taste! I was shocked! I expected an earthy taste. I did have to use a small milk frother to blend the powder fully as it floated and clumped in some spots at the top. It is a small bag, but a very little amount went a long way so this should last you a while.I did not buy this for the health benefits (except the healthy absence of artificial dyes), but I am looking forward to taking it and seeing the results.

Does not hold color if using in cold-process soap making.
I bought this to use with Cold-Process Soap making, and so far, it has not held its blue color. It turns either gray or light green, but nothing close to the blue it starts out as. So, if you are looking at to use soap making, I would not recommend it, especially if you are using goat's milk.
