Worked okay
Took this on a trip to Laos and Burma. Didn’t have the weight allowance to carry heavy bird book so this plus a phone app worked well for helping ID birds I saw along the way and on a couple of birding day trips.

great pocket guide for quick reference if weight and space is the concern. It was very useful during my last trip to India.

So far it's lighter than the book
As we have yet to visit India to use it I can't give it a complete review. I bought it for field use rather than the 3-pound Princeton tome on the birds,of,India

Light Packer's Dream
I'm a super light packer, so decided to take this and African Wildlife pocket guide instead of a heavy wildlife book. Guides always have one or more good animal books, so decided I didn't need one. Haven't been on the trip yet, but this looks very handy and complete.

Quick guide
Small enough to tuck into a pocket or tote bag, this guide will be most helpful in making quick identifications of India's bird life.

Great! I have used this all over Africa and it is a very quick and visual way to identify birds while on safari or on nature hikes.

Good travel bird book.
Excellent book, on our last trip to South Africa I bought a similar book and it was perfect. This is for our India trip. The book is useful, easy to handle and waterproof. Not exhaustive but useful

Great size, somewhat inaccurate colour representations
I like the size and weight of the pocket guide Southeast Asia Birds, and it's going to be a handy 'general' resource out in the field for an upcoming trip to the region. The major issue I have is with the colour representations of some species, with some notable 'clangers'. The Red Junglefowl is shown with red legs instead of blue-grey legs and the breast is dark blue rather than green. The white-bellied sea eagle is shown with grey plumage when it actually has brown. These and other examples of colour inaccuracies may seem like trivial complaints, however when you're unfamiliar with the fauna in a region, guides like these can be the difference between accurate identification and mistakes.
