I EXCHANGED THIS, THINKING IT WAS DEFECTIVE. IT PLAYED MUSIC DISCS WELL BUT OFTEN 'CUT OUT' AND STOPPED PLAYING BOOKS ON DISC. AFTERWARDS, I LEARNED THAT PORTABLE DISC PLAYERS ONLY PLAY DOLBY DISCS. I WISH THIS HAD BEEN NOTED IN THE DESCRIPTION.

Greatest value ever! This player is exactly what I needed! Relatively small, light weight, extremely easy to use with just right sound. Couldn't be happier. Plan on sending these to dear friends who have birthdays coming up. To start, pop 2 AA batteries in easy to open bottom space, manually open top and insert disc. Side buttons a cinch to activate. Insert headphones, which are light, comfy with foam covering, push 'start' and you are good to go. Color is really a rich royal blue, very stylish, not the bright color in the picture. All in all, this is something I look forward to using many, many times to tide me over otherwise difficult or just boring occasions. Update...just found the 'open' button. My bad.

Great CD player. It is CD and CDR compatible. Low price, high quality.

The unit is made of cheap plastic. There is no anti-skip. The buttons are clicky at least, but still feel cheap. The worst part is how noisy it is. The amp and DAC are not isolated or shielded from the rest of the device, so you hear the disc spinning and lots of static. There are no other features besides basic programmability, and a few play modes. The barebones featureset was why I wanted to try this product out, however, it is disappointing.**1 month update**I increased to 3 stars because I think the 2 stars was a bit harsh. It works, it's fine. The main issue is the noise, I think now, this is not because the amp + DAC are bad, but the amp is not attenuated for use with headphones. So if you can find an in-line volume attenuator, it will sound very clean. Still, that means you have to buy something else for a good experience, and the lack of antiskip means you can't use it on-the-go.

Works great! My sister is autistic and likes CD’s and collects them, she loves music but doesn’t really like electronics.It’s durable, she is accident prone and it’s held up for over 6 months now!The color is just as described, no chips or imperfections.The sound quality and everything is good, especially if you use decent headphones!It’s easy to figure out so I’d definitely recommend for kids or people who have issues with comprehending simple tasks.My only thumbs down, is that it takes AAA batteries. They’re just a little inconvenient for us, but even then, Amazon fits us covered :)

Stopped working after playing 1 CD.I needed to edit this review because the reason it stopped working was my mistake.The reason I give it 4 stars is because the earphones are very cheap.
