Thanks for a great product.
When I told my husband I ordered him a fishing net he wasn't thrilled. One more thing to carry. I said it folds. He said it won't be strong enough. Well he was very impressed! It doesn't take much space and so far has been more than strong enough for our Lake Erie fishing. Thanks for a great product.

Good for a canoe, not built for salmon.
I needed a net for a BWCA lake trout fishing trip. My previous net couldn't handle trout over 30". This net is much larger, each side of the triangle is 24" and the net is 24" deep. A 30" fish should fit easily. The mesh is smooth and coated in heavy rubber which should make it hook resistant. But, I was worried about the strength... based on reviews of broken handles. Tonight I tested it by lifting dead weight from the floor with handle held straight out. With the handle fully extended I could only lift 2 lbs. With two sections out I could lift 3 lbs. With the handle collapsed I could lift 6lbs. And if i gribbed it right behind the yoke, 8lbs. But, at 8lbs the sides of the net sagged a lot. I did not even try 9lbs. Obviously, when lifting large fish you need to hold the handle vertical. Why 4 stars? It is a good collapsible net for $30. If i had paid $75 it would be really disappointing. If you aren't canoe camping, get a solid net. If you are carp fishing, get a solid net. Salmon? SOLID NET.The 20" version probably makes more sense than the 24". The larger size might help you catch a fast moving fish, but anything you NEED the 24" size for could break the net if you arent careful.Update: Just returned from BWCA. The net worked very well for pike to 30" and lakers to 22". The large size made it easy to net fish. The mesh proved hook proof despite a fish thrashing into my open tackle box. I would recommend the 20" or 24" size for canoeing and camping. But, not for fish over 8-10lbs...

If you have fish you NEED this net!
I purchased this net for my pond after I inherited a batch of full grown Koi. This net is the greatest one we have ever had! It is sturdy enough to get fish that are 40lbs and also the very small fish, yet it is not so heavy, that only a very strong person has to use it. The telescopic handle really helps reaching across wide areas. It also helps in moving the water plants around. My husband was especially impressed it came with a case, so we will not have another tall thing that can fall on us in the storage area. Through the years we have purchased many fish nets but this one beats them all! This item will be on our list for friends who have ponds or just fish for Christmas time!

This is a very sturdy large net that is stable whether it's fully extended or in its most compact position. I bank and kayak fish and have had this net with me on 9 occasions this past month and have landed several large bass and some huge cat fish with this unit. Also, it opens using one hand and a flip of the wrist. Great buy!!! I saw a similar net at fleet farm selling for 120.00.

Duck net, yes
The flat edges make this a superior net for catching runaway poultry, which is what I use it for. It's big enough for a duck, and not too big for a hen. Teenaged ducks (and hens), anyway. Like teenagers, they seem to spend most of their time finding new ways to get out of their enclosure and go foraging for interesting bugs and unauthorized foods. Today they got all the way to the front yard, at which point this net became very handy indeed. The mesh is a heavy black plasticky or rubbery stuff, so I don't know what will happen when the birds start attacking it, but maybe by then I will have the new and more secure enclosure built. I keep the handle very short, as this improves my aim. The whole thing folds down to the size of a medium (not super-compact) umbrella, which is also handy.

Buy with confidence!
Next collapses perfectly opens up to huge, 2ft wide. Breaks down small and is super convienient. Rubber net is very durable and extends plenty long enough for use on a boat. Best net I've ever had and stays in my car at all times.

50" Great fishing net
Specs:Folded length: 28"Unfolded total length (2 telescopic sections): 83"Unfolded total length (1 telescopic section): 50"Great fishing net. I like that you can fold this fishing net. Being that i have limited space on my boat that feature is awesome. I use this net from a boat and have caught many rockfish. Total fishing landed with this net on my last outing was about 20 rockfish with the biggest being 4 1/2 lbs. The telescopic net has two section, so you can extend it to either 50" or 83". You must look into this company, If your new to fishing or want to buy good quality items with budget prices.

Head Saver
So one day I tell the girlfriend "Hey, let's go fishing" and she agrees. So we're sitting there fishing and she hooks a nice size trout. This is when I realize I've made a fatal mistake. I forgot to buy it net to land this fish, especially since I'm on a pier and six feet away from the surface of the water. So I scurry on down onto the rocks to try to get her fish landed, but the hook slips out of the trout mouth. I have no fish and a pissed girlfriend. An hour later I ordered this net and a few days later it arrived. We went out fishing again but with a net this time. It's a good thing I had the net cause my gf caught a nice size bass. If it wasn't for this net, she probably would've killed me for losing all her fish.
