Every Collector should have a Copy
The "Bidaai" is a bittersweet moment in traditional Hindu marriages because it symbolizes the end of one phase of life for the bride as she leaves her parents' house and starts a new phase with her husband and his family. There is sadness and also uncertainty as she does not know how her husband and in-laws will accept her. All these feelings are brought out beautifully in the songs on this CD, but I cannot help feeling that songs like Mohd Rafi's "Chalo Re Doli" (Jaani Dushman) and S. D. Burman's "Doli Mein Bithaye Ke" (Amar Prem) should have found a place on it.
