Excellent stone.
Shipping was fast and the stone was well packed. The stone is perfectly flat and cut’s extremely well. I’ve used this multiple steels and works equally well on all different types. I highly recommend this for repairing edge damage or working on very dull blades. I also use ceramic stones for refining the edge but plan to add a medium and fine diamond stone to the collection after using this one.

Very good stone
The stone comes with instructions for breaking it in as well as which products work well on it for lubrication and maintenance. It does a very good job at flattening my whetstones. I originally got it to course file an old hand planer I got. But I think I need to start with a lower 100 grit. 300 is still taking too much time to get rid of any low spots. Unfortunately this company does not offer a 100 grit size.

Fast steel removal
This is my second 300 grit stone from Ultra Sharp. I have the old one for about 4 years and it is begining to wear out after years of heavy use. also, I have one from DMT but I think the Ultra Sharp is much superior to DMT in the coars grits.

good diamond stone.
Good quality. Follow instructions to break in stone properly. Using for flattening my whetstones. Bought course which is 300 grit.

Outstanding quality
I now have the 300,600 and 1200 grit stones. I built a honing station for my woodworking tools and this setup saves me lots of time. LOVE THESE STONES!!!!

Decent but not for removing metal to change an edge's angle.
Shaped only 1 and a quarter Chisels from a 25 degree to 20 degree edge. Used oil as directed and it did remove the material quickly compared to wet stones I have used, but the grit is gone after 2 hours of use. I suggest buying something cheaper to change a bevel angle and only use this to hone your edge.

BEST—by far—sharpening stones that I’ve ever used.
The “UltraSharp”-brand diamond-encrusted sharpening “stones” are the BEST—by far—sharpening stones that I’ve ever used. “UltraSharp” makes sharpening my Japanese kitchen knives easy, fast, safe, precise, fun, and—SHARP SHARP SHARP. I'll never love stone sharpening-stones again.

It’ll make steel disappear, in a good way.
Cuts extremely quickly. And I mean extremely. It’s faster than a 120 grit water stone I have. Also pulls double duty for flattening my water stones. Can’t speak on the longevity yet because I haven’t had it more than a week. If you need to get out deep chips and flatten stones fast, this is worth it so far. Just be careful, this is the kind of stone that could seriously destroy a blade quick if you use it too often. I bet you could turn a chefs knife into a filet knife without much effort. A quick tip I picked up using it, less pressure is better. It seems to cut much more with medium fingertip pressure.
