I was looking for an EDC (Every Day Carry) pouch which isn't too bulky and heavy, because the gear I carry around is heavy enough. No need for extra weight. Furthermore, I like it when my gear is neatly organized, therefore it doesn't look cluttered all over the place. So, it doesn't give me anxiety attacks. ;-) It also saves time when you don't have to fish a required gear out of the bag. I did some research and got stuck with this bag. The key factors in buying this specific pouch were: a well-respected / reputable brand, which technically guarantees a high performance product. When a brand has an expertise in a field, they tend to improve their products. At the end of the day, quality is what matters when you carry and use something on a daily basis. As well as, easy and quick access to the gear. Most important here, the zippers go all around, so one can access the inside through different angles. Some pouches that I've seen only have one way of getting inside the bag. Hence, you can only store it straight up to get quick access. So you don't have the possibility to stow the bag sideways. The zippers must be sturdy and smooth. They shouldn't get stuck. Everything has to be well-made. No open seams or protruding threads. The pouch arrived quickly, and I started to inspect it right away. My expectations were fulfilled. It has a nice look and feel. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic. The zippers are high quality. They have a lanyard for a better grip and user experience. Mine is mad in Taiwan. I have noticed some reviews which claim they received a counterfeit product because of the different brand logo and country of Manufacture. I have read in a dedicated Maxpedition forum that the company changed its logo and stopped producing this bag in Taiwan at some point. They moved their production to Vietnam in recent years. Therefore, most likely they didn't get a counterfeit product. Some of the users complained about the poor quality which is made in Vietnam. I can't say anything about this because I don't have a bag from Vietnam. The inside of the pouch is divided into different compartments. You can store smaller and larger items. I noticed that you have to try back and forth to fit the different sized items well so that the bag closes, and it doesn't look too bulky. The disadvantage of this bag is that the different compartments cannot be completely filled if you have different gear sizes. As well as, If the bag is full, you can no longer use the mesh bag outside. The slip pocket in the pouch is also crucial. If you fill it too thick, certain compartments cannot be used, so they have to remain empty. It is a mix-and-match situation. Pros: - High quality workmanship - No loose threads or open seams. Quality stitching - Sturdy zippers - A lot of storage possibilities without looking too bulky or heavy - Well thought-out arrangement of the compartments - Quick and easy access through different zipper angles - Portable - Well-known / reputable brand Neutral - Personally, I don't need a Velcro for a moral patch. The brand could have saved weight with this. - Some people complained about quality loss due to the change of the manufacturing country.
