A reliable knock off
I needed this for my Rode video micro microphone so I could record interviews for my podcast on my iphone. I had to try it as it was less than half what they wanted for the brand name and was going to ship to me way sooner as well. Sometimes knock offs suck but this cord is the real deal and works just fine. I am glad i took the chance.

Intended for use with a Phone
This product was recommended by a colleague for use with the Rode mic and an iphone or ipad for doing recording of videos. I have tried it out and it seems to work well. I wanted to have it in my bag so that if i am using my phone instead of my camera for any reason, I can get good audio that is directionally focused.

Just what I needed for my iPhone audio/video set-up.
This arrived very quickly and worked perfectly straight out of the package. This was the final piece I needed to complete my audio/video set-up for pairing my Rode shotgun mic with my iPhone 12 Pro Max (I used it in conjunction with Apple’s lightning headphone Jack dongle). It’s a great quality and value.

Perfect for my intended use - love the fit & finish
Good TRRS cable for sure! The L plugs on both ends are a nice touch that made the decision to purchase this over others a slam dunk... The sound is now flowing from my Mic!

Lasted 6 months; caused glitchy audio
This product came as advertised, worked right out of the box, easy to use.I noticed in my first video (paired with my new Rode wireless microphone) that there were audio glitches. I thought maybe it was an issue with the internal microphone, so I purchased a headset to use with it. It was still there, so I just assumed it was a compression issue with the Rode, itself. It was a problem in livestreams, but for pre-recorded videos I got better at editing them out. Everything else was clear and worked, so it wasn't enough for me to investigate further.Fast forward to this past week. Almost 6 months to the day (ordered Jan 3, 22), and all of a sudden my microphone isn't getting picked up by my devices at all. Of course, I discovered this after recording for 30 minutes, but after two days of self-help videos and isolating components, initially thinking I got a lemon Rode, I discovered it was the cable that was the issue. I have a DSLR that utilizes the Rode cable that came with the microphone, and after recording for 20 minutes on it, it not only worked (I teach yoga, so lots of movement), but there are no audio glitches. I'm heading to Best Buy shortly to pick up a Rode-brand SC7 cable, since my DSLR caps out at 20 min videos and I need to record today for tomorrow's lesson, but I would rather spend the 6-7 extra bucks to just get the Rode brand cable off the bat, instead of creating extra waste and having to spend the $15-20 later, anyways. This cable did what it was supposed to do, but it created distortion in literally every recording I've used it for, and it died very quickly--not something I would have expected from a stationary cable. I could have just gotten a bad one with a loose wire inside, but I would not buy again, and I would not recommend.
