Yes this style works better it has more traction when loading or loading especially if you have been riding where it’s muddy.

Q: what do i use to step on to get myself in the bed of my pickup while pushing my bike up this ramp?

I use my stand to load my bike in. I just use it as a step to get it in the truck. Same with unloading, keeps my finger on the front break the whole time.

Q: Will work for a big snowblower

Yes. I doubt the snowblower weighs more than my 500lb bike.
