Great lamp!
My fish is VERY finicky about light. I have a 12" Pacu in a 75gal tall tank. The white light turned out to be too bright for him but it would work great for calmer community fish. I use the blue night light during the day. Here's how good this lamp is... My fish felt the need to attack it one morning. He jumped completely out of the tank and knocked the hood, lid and lamp into the tank at the same time. After I cleaned up the mess, I disassembled the lamp(very easy by the way) and blew the moisture out with air. I let it sit disassembled in a warm, dry garage for 24 hours. I plugged it in and it worked! This lamp was UNDER WATER and it still works. Any fluorescent fixture would be dead with that kind of treatment. In fact, that's the exact reason I needed a new lamp in the first place. If I ever need a different configuration for a different tank, I'm going to make sure I buy one from the same manufacturer.

Awesome Aquarium Light! Definitely A Great Buy!
This light is awesome. It uses very little power but it's really bright and makes the aquarium stand out. The blue light effect is an awesome addition for night viewing that won't interrupt my fish. It's very sleek and well made, so for the roughly $50 price, it's more than I expected. Also, it says it's only for up to 40", but I'm able to stretch it easily with no additional parts to accommodate a custom 46" tank and it doesn't appear to hav any problems. The only small issue I've had with the light is that the power only plugs in on one side and I would prefer it work from the other side, but this is something I might have an issue with on any other light. I also wish it had a built in timer, but that's really just wishful thinking on my part. All in all, it's a great purchase for the money and I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger to buy again if needed.

Not very bright, way too small.
Bought these for my 210g Chichlid tank, put them on to replace a couple older Beamswork led lights, and they suck compared to the older ones. They give off half the light, maybe because they are half the size, although both are 36". I'm also not real happy that even though I have the white on, there are still a few blue lights that are on, which creates a weird shade, instead of bright white. Maybe they'd be ok on a smaller tank, but if you have something larger, you are better off finding something else. Now I have to spend more money to find something better because I'm sure it would be too much of a pain to ship these back.

great product. very inexpensive
i was skeptical due to price (compared to led lights costing $50 more) at first but i was willing to try given the return policy. i am not disappointed. im using the led lighting in my 55 gallon freshwater tropical tank. to me, the light is more than sufficient to light up my tank during the day and especially at night. the blue lights for night mode sets up a nice mood. it kinda makes my fishes creepy as the blue light highlights flourescent colors of my decors and fishes. its easy to get used to it though.

Very nice for the price**CRAP**
I ordered two of these lights for my 180 gal tank and really couldn't be happier with them. The only complaint that I have is that in the middle of my tank at the top, there is a thick glass shelf that doesn't let the light come through as well. So, now the sides of my tank are bright and the middle is a little dim. I know that this is not the fault of the lights. I really like the blue lights for night, they make my tank look great in the dark. This is a must and at $50 each, you can't go wrong.

Great Product
Everything as described. Low-medium needing light plants grow great under it. Brighter then I expected, uses less energy. I think the single brights have a higher K rating//UPDATE: After a year in a half the light has begun flickering like the other reviewer said. I've had my marineland brand just as long if not longer and it has not flickered. The only reason I think it lasted as long as it did was because I had it on a timer most of the time.
