To Sir, With Love

This movie hits me hard. It takes place in the 1960s, but it has a timeless quality and speaks to every generation. It depicts the transformations that take place in both the teacher and the students during the year they spend together. It is very moving, and the theme song is perhaps one of the greatest movie songs of all time. The movie deserves 10 stars. The acting, the script, the music are all superb and make for an unforgettable movie experience.

THE BEST! I have loved this movie forever. Every "white person's fear" of being taught how to be an excellent human being by a Black Man. Sidney Poitier portrayed this quality throughout his life. A wonderful, poignant performance. May He Rest In Peace Forever.

Not as good as remembered

A superior movie with a superior cast. A must have for any collection.

I'm happy to report that my "To Sir With Love" DVD arrived one day ahead of Schedule. Furthermore: It was every bit as enjoyable and entertaining as I was hoping it would be. Although I first saw the film many years ago on TV: I hadn't forgotten what a splendid performer and singer Lulu was. Also: I felt Sidney Portier delivered a phenomenal Performance! Besides them: The movie is filled with an array of phenomenal performers. Having all those positive qualifications: I heartily recommend "To Sir With Love to all those who still enjoy movies containing substance and a brilliant cast of actors. If the film was remade today using current style: It would undoubtedly be filled with profanity and obscenities of every imaginable kind. Consequently: It's nice to know movies of this nature can still be obtained and enjoyed for their quality and subliminal meanings, rather than a questionable exterior. Therefore: I strongly advise you to purchase "To Sir With Love" while it's still obtainable! I absolutely love it! thank you!

What can I say about this movie? Let's start With Sidney Poitier. He is an excellent actor and he is one of the men who was critical to changing how Black actors and actresses were portrayed in film. The film is revolutionary and groundbreaking. This is a film everyone should see.
