No, the cylinder goes inside the ear canal but not too deep, and the outside loop fits on the inside of your ear fold. I use them for surfing and they stay on tight and work well, and do not ride too far inside to be uncomfortable.

Q: Do these connect through Bluetooth

These are only earplugs, there are no electronics inside. The outside membrane allows the sound to come in but not the water. So you can talk to your swimming pool instructor or to your buddy surfer.

Yes. It comes with a carrying case.
