I'd Know You Anywhere, My Love

Simply lovely! I have gifted on several occasions, and then received when I was pregnant, On the Night You Were Born. I've cried several times reading this to my daughter since she was a few weeks old. Then I added Go To Sleep, My Love and that has been a favorite every night for months. I just received this title and read it to my now 13 month old daughter and this may take the #1 spot. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful! The poetic story is so touching and it melts my heart! My daughter has enjoyed these books thoroughly. After reading, we go through and identify all the animals and their sounds. It makes a fun interactive game. These books will stay in our collection for years as classics. A great gift!

This book is so heart-warming. I read it to my 11 month old and it has a special message that we should all learn from our parents: the unconditional love of a parent regardless of what their child is; it made cry quite frankly. This is what I wish my parents did for me and what I will strive to do for her. This book is a good way to share that message and remember it. The illustrations are beautiful. I am not an art critic so pardon my use of words to describe it. It isn't 100% realistic, but very close to it that it meets my criteria of keeping things realistic looking for my infant. Their a varied use of colors that pleasing that while vibrant are not too much so as to be too stimulating before bed. It is a good size to be comfortable to hold with a baby in your arms for a bed time story and also big enough for an infant to hold and flip the pages themselves. There is variety to the way the format of the pages which keeps things moving at an engaging pace. Some have a few sentences and gives time to linger on the images for a little, others a few words. It also gives the opportunity for the child to engage when older by asking them a couple of questions. In summary, there is a reason this book is so popular. It is very well thought out. I will be purchasing more from Nancy Tillman.

Beautiful book a real heartfelt story...

I Love this book. So sweet and a great gift for any mother or father. As a mother though, it speaks to the heart.

I absolutely love this book! The message of love that is unconditional,strong, and bonded is heartwarming. This is a "feel good" book with lovely art illustration. My daughter has this book for her children, and I bought it as part of a baby shower gift for a first time mom.

Best writer out there. We are working on collecting all of her books with this type of artwork. Every one we have bought has made me cry! They're beautiful books in every way. The best books you can buy for a child, young or grown, or anyone who really means the world to you. Growing up being bounced around from foster home to foster home and back with my parents and back into foster homes, I never got to hold on to anything for long. I always loved reading and escaping into books though. We wanted to be sure our boys always have books at arm's reach, books that say something real, that they can always hold on to....even if one day, God forbid, we aren't there to read the books to them. Her stories read like songs, the message is always clear and beautiful and the artwork is stunning! We can't wait to have them all and almost do. Nancy better get to work!

Cada año por su cumpleaños le regalo uno de los maravillosos libros de esta autora a mi sobrino y le escribo una dedicatoria. Las rimas y las ilustraciones son preciosas y los libros rebosan amor y recuerdan siempre a los niñxs lo especiales y lo únicos que son. Este año mi peque cumple 4 y ¡el libro no podía ser más perfecto para él! Mi sobrino se pasa el día siendo distintos personajes y es raro conseguir "verle" a él, el niño; en su lugar suele haber un dragón, un perro llamado Pichín, un Tiranosaurio Rex... y otros tantos personajes más, que dada la asiduidad con la que nos visitan, ya forman parte de la familia :) Aunque le encanta "leer" y la biblioteca es su sitio más muy favorito desde que tenía 2 años, él prefiere historias de piratas, dinosaurios, monstruos... que ya le voy regalando a lo largo de todo el año, pero me encanta regalarle estos libros "especiales" aunque ahora no sean sus favoritos porque sé que dentro de unos años al leerlos entenderá todo el amor que quería hacerle llegar cuando los elegí para él. He leído alguna crítica a esta autora acusándola de cursi. Podría ser, pero creo que es difícil no sonar un poco cursi al hablar del amor que sentimos por nuestros niñxs. A mi sus libros me siguen pareciendo un regalazo que atesorar.

I love reading this story to my son. The images are captivating and just simply beautiful. The story has a nice rhyme to it. A modern classic that I hope will stay with us for some generations to come.
