It does rust a little bit. But it’s sturdier than others I’ve used, also very pretty.

Sturdy padlocks..Have bought several from Amazon..they have the German name but typically made in China....Only time will tell how weather resistant they actually are though one or two have been found to have rain water retained under the key hole cover though as long as this doesn't mean the inner workings are affected then it shouldn't be too much of a concern.

I've bought several of these - we use them for our beach hut, so they stand out on the front of the hut in all weathers, exposed to the salt spray of the sea. A couple of bursts of WD40 are all that's needed to keep these working well.
