Will Smith goes out with a bang in this hilarious & final Sixth Season! Will doesn't quite avert a disaster, as he destroys his uncle's kitchen in the season premiere episode titled "Burnin' Down The House"! The family is up against a deranged man wearing a clown suit in "I, Clownius" - who'll do anything for a laugh! A young man claiming to be Geoffrey's long-lost son shows up in "The Butler's Son Did It" - only he wants something. William Shatner guest-stars in "Eye, Tooth" - with Carlton getting on his nerves at every possible moment! Carlton passes up Princeton for a bowling career in "I, Bowl Buster", & after being ridiculed after being knocked out by a woman boxer, Will can't live it down in the episode "Boxing Helena". The gambling bug hits Carlton during a trip to Vegas in "Viva Lost Wages" & Hilary is all excited about her talk show going national in "I, Ooh, Baby, Baby". Phil's political ambitions interfere with his marriage in the two-part episode "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do", so the kids do all they can to get Uncle Phil & Aunt Viv back together. Everyone's excited about facing exciting & new challenges in their lives in the two-part series finale "I, Done". Part One finds Vivian & Phil making plans to move to the east coast, Geoffrey moving back to London & Ashley & Hilary moving to New York City & Carlton resuming his education @ Princeton. In Part Two, it is learned everyone has plans except Will, who hasn't yet found a place to live. Phil sells the mansion, with Will handling the transaction. Sherman Hemsley, Isabel Sanford, Conrad Bain & Gary Coleman have guest-starring cameos. Will moves back to Philly to be with Vy & resume his education. After six seasons & 148 episodes, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" ends its run. Will Smith, who became a breakout, bonafide star during the sitcom's third season, began acting in movies around that time, & would become a full-fledged movie star after the series ended. As is often the case, good things do indeed come to an end, but with your DVD watching, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - The Complete Sixth Season", including the previous five seasons, can air in reruns indefinitely. It was great to have the option of watching it on Amazon. I had been renting through Netflix for the first five seasons but the sixth and final season was mysteriously unavailable for the foreseeable future. I wasn't about to let my "marathon" commitment of the entire series fall short, and Amazon came to the rescue. Not only was the show the breakout vehicle for Will Smith, but also a nice tribute to the late James Avery (aka Uncle Phil) who passed away last New Year's Eve. In addition, it was great to see Dancing With The Stars champion Alfonso Ribeiro (aka Carlton) back in the day. The rest of the cast was also outstanding: Karyn Parsons (Hilary), Tatyana Ali (Ashley), Ross Bagley (Nicky), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey the butler), along with the two Aunt Vivians (Janet Hubert-Whitten for Seasons 1-3, Daphne Maxwell Reid for Seasons 4-6). Finally, DJ Jazzy Jeff as Jazz (Will Smith's real life rap partner) was great comic relief. I didn't feel the show was as gentle as family comedies in the 1980's such as The Cosby Show or Family Ties, but it's still better than just about anything the main networks offer in the 21st century on the sitcom front. I love the fish out of water premise of this series and many other scripted stories.

Wanted my son to see some early Will Smith, he loved it and it’s good clean family fun!

I love The Fresh Prince! It is a great TV show! It is a bit old, not HD, but who cares! It is amazing and the jokes are hilarious! Too bad there's no TV show like this anymore! I was very young when this TV show was out so I didn't get to see it on television. For those who have never seen it, buy season 1 and you will see a completely different Will Smith, but you will understand why he later did some great movies and got quite rich!

In search of good family entertainment without inappropriate behaviors, I went back to some of the older sitcoms. Fresh Prince is more suited for younger children in the earlier seasons; the older he gets, the more the show deals with older issues so it really depends on the age of your children. I personally prefer the earlier seasons for that reason, but all of the seasons are crazy funny.

The epic ending to one of America's BEST comedy TV series EVER brings more laughs, more moral lessons and one of the Fresh Prince's most memorable and phenomenal acting moments - meeting his Dad played by Ben Vereen, while still keepin' it real. A MUST HAVE for EVERY Will Smith fan.

bought as a gift. Outside was in french which i wasnt expecting - however DVD was fine and works in Uk.would recommend this series for anyone who has watched the other series.
