Review: Luxury G-shock that's worth the extra money - One of my favorite watches. I hesitated to purchase the MR-G since I had a couple of MTG models, one of which included the GPS functionality. I wasn't sure whether the MR-G warranted the much higher price tag. It does. I've heard it said that the MTG is just a regular resin G-shock watch wrapped in steel, and it certainly comes across that way. The MR-G, by comparison, is designed from the ground up to be a metal (titanium) watch while still retaining the shock resistant capabilities of its cheaper brethren. While it's still certainly a large watch, it's not nearly as bulky as the MTG, and it wraps around the wrist much better. The titanium construction also means it's much lighter. The finishing on the band and case are top notch and visibly better than the MTG. The movement is identical to the MTG version, so functionality is the same. Even radio reception is indistinguishable between the two. I really like the copper accents on this model, which could easily be mistaken for rose gold. Review: Expensive but worth it. - There is a reason this watch is the top of the line gshock. Expensive but worth it.
