This keyboard is really great! I saw some people talking about how it didn't have software and didn't work with CORE, but that's untrue. On the Glorious website, you can download the older version of the software that works with this keyboard. HOWEVER, I would not have known this keyboard *did* have software that worked with it if I hadn't accidentally gotten to the GMMK 1 product page on the Glorious website. So, I can't blame other buyers for not knowing about it. You can set a multitude of different effects and change the color to anything you want. It has a few colors in the color selector but you can click "other" and choose your own with the color wheel/hex code. It has 18 preset effects *and* an option to make a custom one. Haven't tried the custom one, so I can't say how it works, but it's there. So yes, there is definitely software for this keyboard. I used the Glorious Kaihl speed silver switches with it. Of course, I expected switches by the same brand to work together, so it wasn't a surprise, haha. They were easy to install. I saw a video of someone installing them where he took the top case off, but you do not need to do that with this one. The top case is aluminum, but the bottom is plastic. The keyboard is definitely wired, which it states in the listing, but the cable is quite long, so that isn't an issue for me. Prior to this I had a Redragon wireless keyboard, which was nice, but this one is much nicer (and is ISO, which is impossible to find with backlighting!) and since the cable is long, I don't have the issue I had with my previous wired keyboard which had a shorter cable, which prompted me to get the wireless one. I unfortunately have not gotten my ISO keycaps yet (I custom ordered them for Estonian legends) so I took the caps off my Redragon keyboard and "made it work," which is why I did not include a picture. It looks very silly, haha. However, I saw someone in another review state that the space bar they got did not fit this keyboard, and I am not sure why not, because the Redragon one fits fine, and it's a standard-size space bar. I do not think any standard set will include a space bar that is too long, but just in case, make sure to check that the one you want to get is the regular 6.25u kind and not the 7u. I figure the other reviewer may have had a 7u without realizing it. the only thing I could not make work was finding a correctly-sized key to go in the numpad 0 spot, since I used that key for the enter button, LOL! A fun experiment I suppose. Anyway, this is a really nice barebones keyboard. I have 0 complaints. The backlighting is great, you can change how strong it is and choose from a ton of patterns or make your own. The aluminum is cold. Not much else to say, I suppose.
