Amazon Basics Mechanical Pencils with Metal Clip, Medium Point (0.7 mm) - 12-Pack

I'm always trying to find a pencil in the shop. Regular pencil dull too quickly and provide marks that are too wide. These pencils have thin lead and are perfect for marking lengths on wood or other material. Since there are plenty of them, I won't be hunting for a pencil again.

Work just as good as "name brand" mechanical pencils that cost more. Bought these for a back to school supply drive at church and these are a great quality and value. Many different colors.

The pencil outside is great. its a fatter mechanical pencil with a comfort grip. I was extremely excited when i saw these and had high hopes. BUT that all ended with trying to write with it. You cannot use any amount of pressure otherwise the lead will break. even when you have it super low. then if you want to use the eraser... well you better have a separate one b/c this one is NOT functional. There is a hole in the eraser where the lead refills go, but the moment you turn upside down to use it, all the lead falls out. Not sure why they put a hole instead of making the eraser come off like most of them. all in all this is not a usable pencil. They need to make the lead thicker, and remove the hole in the eraser. then it would be perfect!

The pencil part is great. It’s the eraser that is the problem. It is too thin and can pop out while erasing.

Good price for a quality product. Passed and surpassed our expectations. Our high schoolers are very happy with the mechanical pencils :)

So, there’s a hole in the eraser part that causes the lead to fall out of the pencil. So You flip it over to erase something and also get pencil marks or break all the refills cause it’s slipping out at the same time. It’s super annoying to deal with.

I just received these mechanical pencils and, while the price was good, there is a major design flaw in the eraser. For some reason, Amazon decided to design in a hole for easy lead refill into the center of the eraser. Well, that is all good when you are writing with the pencil, however, when you actually need to erase something (which is a major reason for using a pencil in the first place), the refill lead falls out the end! There is a nice clear cap that will prevent the lead from falling out when in a bag or drawer (until it gets lost or broken of course), but that needs to be removed to use the eraser. The pencils write well and seem to be comfortable to hold. The colors are nice and vibrant. I would have been very happy with these, except for the poor eraser design. I should have read the reviews, but I didn't....I never thought there could be a reason for bad reviews for mechanical pencils....guess I was wrong. It is not the end of the world, replacement erasers can be purchased, but it doesn't make the value as great as it was. I don't know how there are so many 5 star ratings, unless people just don't use erasers!
