A Brush My Cat Actually Enjoys (and i enjoy using on him)
I bought this brush to help manage my cat's shedding, and it works wonderfully. My cat is super fluffy and sheds a lot, which used to make my allergies worse. This brush removes tons of loose hair, and it's surprisingly gentle—my cat usually hates grooming, but with this brush, he actually tolerates it (and might even enjoy it sometimes!). I can tell by the purring. The self-cleaning feature is what makes this brush stand out. With other brushes, I always had to wrestle with pulling out clumps of hair that got stuck between the bristles. With this one, just press the button, and all the fur comes off. It's such a time-saver compared to other brushes I've tried. It’s oddly satisfying to see how much fur it collects each time. The handle is comfortable, the brush is lightweight, and it feels well-made—no signs of wear after multiple uses.Overall, I’m really satisfied. This brush is better than others I've used, especially for its cleaning mechanism and my cat's improved reaction. I’d definitely recommend it to other pet owners looking for a convenient way to reduce shedding. And its gentle on his skin.Pros:Effective at removing loose fur.Self-cleaning is easy and efficient.Gentle on the pet, comfortable to use.

It really works!
I needed a dog brush for my newly adopted four legged friend. The thought of dealing with dog hair flying in the air, all over me, and especially stuck in the brush was quite unappetizing! When I stumbled across this little gadget I thought, "yeah, right." Whoever hear of a dog brush with retracting prongs that would eliminate the problem of cleaning out hair stuck in the bristles. But I felt it was worth a try since the price was quite reasonable. The brush arrived well packaged and undamaged. I immediately tested the retractable bristles, and much to my surprise it worked just as described! That is all well and good, but what about when those little capped prongs are full of dog hair? So, out on the deck we march, my Doberman and me. Fortunately he loves to be brushed and appears as if he would fall asleep on his feet as long as he is being brushed. The experiment began with the brushing commencing down his back, then legs, then belly and finally neck. Needless to say, the brush was quite full of dog hair when I finally stopped. Now for the real test. It was time to push the purple button on the back of the brush. With anxious anticipation and low expectations the button was pushed. But what to my doubtful eyes should appear, but a mat of dog hair resting atop the brush with bristles nowhere in sight! I simply brushed the little hair mat away. I have used this brush multiple times over the past 6 months with the same results, and it continues to work well. Usually I follow up brushing with a pair of grooming gloves with a rubber palm with nubby prongs. These gloves allow for deeper, massaging pressure releasing more hair. I use them so that I do not have to press too hard with the brush since my dog does not have a thick coat. I do not see this as a drawback to the brush, but some might. The brush is constructed of a sturdy plastic with an ergonomic handle. The button is easy to reach and to push with just one finger or the thumb while still holding the brush. Cleaning is simple; just retract the bristles and sweep the hair away. The retracted bristles contribute to easy storage. One can choose either soft (ends are topped with a tiny plastic cap) or the non-smooth (without the cap); I chose the soft capped bristles since my dog is short haired without an undercoat. Using this grooming tool, brushing my dog is a pleasure for both of us. I can recommend this product without reservation.Top 3 Likes:-Sturdy plastic with a easily manipulated button enabling bristles to retract and extend exactly as promised-Ergonomically sound in the hand and easy for an arthritic hand to use-Easily packed with other grooming tools in travel luggageTop 3 Dislikes:-Hair still needs to be brushed off of the surface-No instructions on how to clean the brush when it gets dirty (not with hair)-Does not get quite as much hair off as the grooming gloves do

This brush does not aggravate my cat.
It took me a while to decide on this brush. I know it is a reputable brand which was a deciding factor. I love that brush has bristles with bulbs the end. I like that this easily releases the fur that gets trapped in the bristles. My cat is able to tolerate getting brushed without trying to scratch or bite me. A lot of his undercoat is able to get brushed out comparison to the other brush I was using. With the other brush I have gotten poked under my nail and I just imagine how any cat or dog must feel getting brushed with this since it really does hurt and probably tears their skin as well. With this brush, the bristles are able to get between the tangled fur while removing it gently. Way more for gets removed. The con for this brush is that is a little clunky, not able to get under the belly of cats easily if they’re standing up. This brush might be more suited for dogs for this reason. Also, the handle would be better if it were a few inches longer making it easier to reach under you cat’s belly. This is still a good brush for cats and I recommend others try this, although I’m also not sure how other brushes compare. I’m not about to spend more money on another brush so this will have to do until it breaks.

Very easy to use and effective
We have a feral cat that we have been socializing. He has gotten used to our touch and he allows us to brush his coat with this brush. He actually seems to like it. It’s gentle and effective in removing shedding hair.

This is the best.
This slicker brush is the best. I like it with the plastic tips so you don’t scratch the skin. Much better than using a deshedding blade for me. And clean so easy. Glad I tried this. I order from hertz go as delivery was much faster then other look alike. Make sure you order the one with the plastic tips as there are others. Mine is 5 in and 10 in handle.

Best dog brush I've ever used!
Our dogs are Border Collie mix, so they have long, thick hair. This brush smooths them out and has them shining in no time. My arthritic hands love the big handle. Dogs look great!

It works but
It works sure but the tips really need to be tipped with something. I accidentally scratched my hand with it and it bled. If I accidentally went too hard with it on my pet I can only imagine what that would feel like to them. I think the only thing I really like about it is the push button release. The bristles need work.
