Easy to install
Replacement hour meter for my John Deere Gator. This allowed me to track the hours since I installed a “new engine” on my side by side; not adding to the hours previously used on the prior engine.

Just what I needed
Left the disconnect switch on and ran up 16 hours on the original meter. Used this one to replace it and set a timer for 16 hours so time would be accurate. Fits in the original opening on a Chinese mini excavator.

Would probably be fine if not exposed to the elements.
Update: After leaving the original review below, the retailer reached out to me and was willing to refund my purchase price. I'm grateful to them for standing behind their product. For my application I chose to purchase a name brand fully sealed replacement. For their willingness to fund my money after 30 days they get four stars.Original: Save your money and buy a higher quality name brand unit. This hour meter stopped working after only 16.4 hours. Might be ok for a climate controlled application but not for outdoor equipment.

Good simple reliable
Works as it should. I used this to replace a cheapo digital display meter which quit when the internal battery went dead (that you can't replace of course). So I got this, which is a reliable classic setup. I use it to time glass bead life in my vapor blaster.I've seen a few people on here complaining about the noise it makes. Lol. It clicks every 1 or 5 seconds, I guess? I don't know what industry they come from, but all the hour meters I've seen are installed on machines that make some type of noise. A lot of noise. They're not installed in bedrooms, bathrooms, conference rooms, or libraries as far as I know. Maybe they're using them on electronics in a quiet environment(?) No idea, but I have yet to hear anything from this device, bc when the machine's on, I'm working, and I have better things to worry about than faint clicking.

A failure
Working great, however it is not waterproof, and it should be.**- update **-It has completely failed at 3.4 hours of runtime. It is in no way weatherproof, full of water from rain. Any hour meter should be, especially for equipment that lives outside.
