Godinger Dublin Double Old Fashioned Glasses, 11oz, Set of 4

I purchase this set of 4 Godinger Dublin Old Fashioned Glasses because a set of 4 that my sister gave me as a gift set with a decanter had a glass with a chipped rim that we overlooked because we never used (just display). After one of a set of Reed and Barton chess theme DOF glasses that I used broke in the dishwasher and I couldn't find a replacement, I pulled out the set and decided to replace the chipped one and use them. The original set had a diamond shaped green sticker on them that said "Shannon Crystal" and these were a perfect match.This isn't heirloom quality cut crystal folks (they are molded, but the design is deep and looks good), and for presentable, decent, bar ware, they are perfect.They are MADE IN CHINA, so it seems even Irish Crystal is being outsourced.I wanted to use these for Old Fashioned cocktails and whiskey with ice spheres from my Tovolo molds and they work fine and are a decent price. The glasses are 10 oz filled to the top so they comfortably hold 8 to 9 ounces of liquid which allows a couple ounces of whiskey with ice to not look lost as it would in a giant 14 or 16 oz DOF glass.If you don't expect Mikasa Flame d'Amore cut crystal quality for under $5 a glass you'll probably appreciate these for being the presentable, good, serviceable bar ware they are.Saluti!

Let me be clear: It is a decent glass, BUT not as described. It is described by the merchant AND the leaflet in the box as handmade and from Ireland. It is neither. I guess I can't blame the merchant because they can't inspect every little item they sell.The problem: I wanted a nice hand carved crystal tumbler set. I read the description and figured that perhaps a less known company would be great instead of expensive english stuff(lots of interesting items come from Ireland, why not this product?)The item I received had a great little description of the hand made lineage of the product and it's Irish roots.The glasses were obviously molded and machine made. And the sticker and markings UNDER the box said they are made in China!!Not Irish, not hand made, completely fraudulent sales description. So I returned them.Buy these if you like the way they look and you don't care about the description or quality(actually, cheap molded glasses are more durable anyway). But remember these won't be heirloom quality like they claim on the product card.At this point, I will have to spend more, but don't waste your time on Godinger until they are more honest about their outsourced junk.

These glasses are so nice and sturdy, super solid manufacturing. They appear as though they are extremely fanciful, but at a reasonable price. They are perfectly suited for dishwashing. I’ve purchased additional pieces since and am so pleased by this selection. They make such a beautiful presentation.

These glasses are beautiful and well made. I saw similar glasses and found these. This is one of the few companies I trust making fine glass products.

I ordered these glasses for the first time in 2016. we use them daily. Recently needed to order more and I am so happy. The glasses are very pretty, surprisingly sturdy, and look expensive. You will be happy. Also delivered intact and nothing broken.

These are beautiful glasses. Look nice beside my more expensive crystal. They are made in China but are lead crystal. At this price, I won’t hesitate to use them often or worry about breaking them. There is an acrylic version and from other reviews, seems like some sellers get them confused. I checked as soon as they were delivered - no problem with my order. They are nice and as described.

The glasses seem to be sturdy enough but not sure that they are lead crystal. I was very disappointed when I pulled off the Dublin label and saw made in China on the back side. They could not have hidden that better.
