desertcart.com: Cluefinders 6th Grade Adventures [OLD VERSION] : Software Review: Cluefinder's FTW - Every single Cluefinder's game has a unique plot and location that makes it really easy to forget it's a learning game. I highly recommend all of them. This one in particular has a plants trying to take over the world plot, which is kinda silly for a almost middle schooler or middle schooler, but what it teaches and how it teaches is still really solid. With the leveling system, a fifth grader could easily get the hang of it and learn from it, maybe younger. Review: Did not like. - Did not run properly on my system graffics was terrable did not like it. was not what I was expecting.

Cluefinders are degenerating
I spent much of my summer going into fourth grade playing the fourth grade Cluefinders. I remembered it as fun and educational. The plot was concise and engaging, and the difficulty level seemed appropriate. My younger sister is entering sixth grade this year, so I decided to buy her the Cluefinders, hoping she would enjoy it as much as I had enjoyed the fourth grade Cluefinders. However, this Cluefinders episode is poorly developed. Playing through it, I discovered I was left out of parts of the story because I used the map as a shortcut between places. I am in calculus, and I even struggled with the math occasionally, finding it mildly challenging most of the times, which shows that the math is way beyond sixth grade level. The biggest flaw of all is that there is a glitch in the system, preventing anyone from finishing the game. I do not recommend this product to anyone, and I recommend that everyone find another way to prepare their child/younger sibling for sixth grade.

Downton Abbey meets Cluefinders- a poor attempt at 'voice acting'
Well, its the Cluefinders game I remembered as a kid...I purchased it for nostalgia's sake (just kidding, I need to re-learn fractions and I'd rather have fun doing it). The graphics are crappy, like they used to be (no complaints here).....But my biggest qualm.... Is that this specific version..... Has really crappy English accents. Why dear Jonie, let me pause for one quick second and enjoy my tea and crumpets as Lord Claptrap complains about Santiago. I mean Earl Santiago. It's like a really stereotypical, real CRAPPY faux British upperclass voices. It's actually making it really hard for me to enjoy the game again. But what everyone else has been saying about educational value, yadda yadda, it's good. But why change the voices for this edition? It might be noted that this version says Grades 6 and 7 on the opening splash screen. Hmmmm.....

Teaching Math through logic
This is 6th grade game cluefinders, it is based on logic and math. I help my daughter with it, and guess what, i have been unable to answer some of the problems. It is not easy but very challenging. We enjoy this product.

Great educational tools
I love this series of cds for the kids. Starting out with 3rd grade and going up to about 7th grade in learning, the kids enjoy being a [part of the story and at the same time unraveling the mystery. My kids have gotten very good at numerous subjects just by playing these games. It's just too bad they stopped making the summer vacation workbooks and science lab kits to keep your kids learning during they're summer break from school, without leaving off the fun side. Great products!

Why is it so hard to list accurate system requirements?
The case for this software lists system requirements as: "Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP; Pentium 166 MHz or faster (300 MHz or faster for XP); 32 MB RAM (128 MB for XP); 127 MB free hard disk space; 8X or faster CD-ROM drive." Mac requirements are "OS 8.6-9.x; 180 MHz or faster processor; 32 MB RAM; 127 MB free hard disk space; 8X or faster CD-ROM drive" I had to return because of system requirements. I wish sellers would list requirements accurately from the case, so it's not such a guessing game.
