Do not reinvent the wheel
While this mallet is kind of weird looking "stick", it is really the only way to go if you are needing a replacement. On my Treeworks Chimes (the 5 tube set), I tried a variety of materials in place of this mallet. Not good. I even tried a set of drum sticks which produced unsatisfactory sounds. My best advice is "don't try to reinvent the wheel" here and just purchase this replacement mallet if needed or you just want an extra one. Substitutions just will not work out. 5 stars :)

Used with chimes for my classroom.Wish it had a string attached to hang in sight. Well made.

Deceptive description
BEWARE. Description is extremely deceptive . When an item is described in plural you would expect to receive a pair. When I read TreeWorks Chime Mallets I would expect 2. Only 1 mallet is sent.
