Not really worth it - too much work to use
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Sometimes this works. If the can is really perfectly round. Usually, I have to "help" it go around the can, it doesn't always go by itself. I attached a video of it actually working. Another thing to note: if you want to be able to drain your can (tuna for example) the way it cuts, you can't. It cuts the side not the inside of the can so the lid sits back on top perfect. Nice if you want to cover the can again and save the contents for another day, but not so if you want drainage.Pros:It does usually get your can open. Stats: I opened 3 cans 1 didn't work at all, 1 opened with a lot of work on my part and only part of the way and 1 worked (this is the video).lip is smooth, not sharpwhen working it's hands freeCons:Doesn't always open your canUses batteries and seems to drain them quickly (4 AA to operate not included)Is somewhat difficult to get to goingPersonally, I'm returning for a soft hand manual opener. They are cheaper and easier to use.

Don't buy this one!
I bought this because it looked similar to one I had that worked great. The one I had wore out and I have since looked, it was Chef's Star. I got this one in July, it has never worked great. It was slow and ate batteries. Two months old and it simply would not work on some cans. The only thing that worked good was the magnet, which is of no use if the lid is still attached to the can! It is trash, useless and a real waste of money both for the can opener and the the batteries. I just ordered the Chef's Star again. Looking forward to having a working electric can opener again. I honestly thought since the design looked the same, it wasn't a big deal. I was wrong wrong wrong. Don't bother getting this one.

You Won't Be Happy
Lot's of noise, ZERO function. Reading the 5 star reviews and looking at the pictures included with them, it's obvious the product was redesigned. You would think 4 batteries instead of 2 would help, but not when the internals are damaged. I suspect nylon gears are the culprit as the first time I powered it up, it sounded like it was grinding itself apart inside. On/off switch worked only sometimes, outside gear turned a couple times, but never when tried it on a can. Too bad, I'm sure the older ones with better mechanicals inside work just fine.

Pleasantly Surprised and Quite Pleased!
UPDATE: I was pleasantly surprised that the company would reach out and ask to be able to make it right for me. They sent me, at their expense, a replacement which is working great. I would be very comfortable ordering from this company again. I love this little gadget. With rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and wrists, using a manual is very painful and in an apartment the counter space is at a premium. This can be conveniently stored in a drawer until needed. I am quite pleased.OLD: Worked great for nearly 2 months and then it exploded and parts flew everywhere. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I collected the parts and took a photo.

Found a much better battery operated one
I don't understand... this thing worked so slowly (with fresh tested batteries) and noisy.. and after the wait for it to creep its way around the can...it accomplished nothing - not even scoring the can. I had to find a mechanical opener and opened it by hand, and much quicker. We found the directions confusing for such a simple thing!Found a much better battery operated one, that takes two batteries instead of the 4 this one requires!!!! and it spins around the can quickly. For $8.99! Didn't even need directions.

Lack of quality control = lack of a sale. Bye, Felicia.
Terrible. Had to return. The battery compartment was poorly constructed. This can opener takes 4 AA batteries. 3 of the batteries went in just fine, however the 4th battery would not seat properly. The compartment was too big, so the battery didn't click into place, it rattled around, and most importantly, did not maintain a connection between the battery and the device, so the can opener wouldn't work. I could put the 4 batteries in, turn the device upside down, and 3 of the batteries would stay in place and the 4th would just fall out. I'm sure this is not an overall issue with this manufacturer, and probably just a defective one, but what a stupid thing to get wrong and in turn, cause me to have to return the item as it's unusable. A waste of time that could have been prevented with some simple quality control in manufacturing. Lazy. Won't buy again. 0/10.

It self-destructed after only a few uses
This thing self-destructed on an ordinary can, and I mean self-destructed. It literally went to pieces on that can. It was an ordinary sized cranberry can not something exotic or even a noncircular shape (rectangular). This was after moderate usage over only a few weeks. Of course, it is within days after the expiration of the return date. I did not use it every day, only when I needed to open a can. It was never dropped or abused in any way.Do yourself a favor and don't buy this thing!

Battery Compartment Problem
I bought three …. one for me and two as gifts. All are going back. First of all, they are covered with oil when received and require immediate cleaning. The problem is the battery compartment foes not properly secure the batteries so correct contact is not made, Batteries rattle around. Poor design.
