Q: How does this compare to Hoot Owl Hoot for a four year old?

I think Hoot Owl Hoot is the best of all the games. Snug as a Bug can be made more simple or more complex, so in that way it is good. However, the stinkbugs basically just sit until the end of the game, and then it is difficult to defeat them, because you only get three tries, and by the time they are in play the odds are against you. A lot of 4 year olds I work with with just ignore that the bugs have their turn, because they can sense that they will win. Hoot Owl Hoot is more of a steady game, and you can't tell who will win until the end.

Q: How does this compare to the counting checkens game? My daughter is 27 months. Debating which one to buy

We don't have this game, but I am not a huge fan of Counting Chickens. For one thing, it's waaaaaay too easy to lose a chick, and you absolutely must have all 40 chicks, or else the game just doesn't work. It's not that interesting. I get bored with it and so does my 37 month old.

Q: how does this compare to counting chickens? I found that one so boring as did my 3 year old.

Much, much better. We have three Peaceable Kingdom games, including Counting Chickens, and it is by far the worst. Give this one, or Stack Up, a try, and I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Q: How many players maximum could play this game? The box says 2-4. Had anyone tried to play it with more kids, like 8?

I never tried playing with more than 3 people. You could play with 8 people, but the game would be over much faster, and each person wouldn't get many turns.
