My son had previously used this at a local kids play place to make stop animations. Many of the complaints have been addressed in the app updates and I was so happy for him to have one at home. This is one of his favorite toys and he loves making stories using stop animations. It was easy to set up on the iPad and with the recent updates it connects easily. The quality is fine for a kid and it’s a great tool to teach the fundamentals of stop animation and storytelling.

Teacher here. Love this EXCEPT when I have to move the goose neck to "zoom in" or "zoom out". It will stop working and give me a "HUE is not connected" error - then it takes me 5 minutes to get it to show my paper again. If you bump it it goes out. Any movement can 'disconnect' it and you have to unplug, replug, refresh, adjust and hope it comes back. I'm disappointed - it worked so well, now in year 2 it is finicky.

Now that I finally got the cam to work, it turned out to be a very nice , sharp cam. The flexable neck makes it possible to use it to read a printed page or it can be used as a web cam, it also says it can read bar codes. Some people have apparently tried to bend the cam were it connects to the neck, not a good idea, it's better to bend the neck away from the cam is a curve. I didn't know that the CAMERA app was used with this VIDEO cam. Now I know & so do you.

Light, portable, great picture! I did purchase one of these about two years ago and needed to repurchase due to me (or possibly a student) jamming the wires in the plug, but they’re so economical and great it honestly didn’t bother me. I like these far better than ELMO or LadyBug document cameras. The picture quality is far better and they are light so you can remove them from your desk to create more space.

It is not the absolute highest quality camera but for the money it works great. I'm very happy with it.

I purchased a RED HUE HD Pro. 1. The box it came in displayed a BLUE HUE. (Should have seen the signs...), 2. Today, I took it to work, plugged it into my Lenovo Yoga and I could barely see the red light at the base and had to ask students to turn the lights off so I can see it it is on. 3. IT IS NOT "PLUG AND PLAY". I expected to be able to project what was on my laptop screen or at the vary least, be able to manipulate the neck face down so students can see the graphic organizer on the table or use it like an Elmo. I understand needing to use a projector to enlarge images, but according to the customer rep that I chatted with online, EVERY function requires being connected to a projector. WHY? The video ads are deceptive. This is not "portable" REALLY...not if you have to drag a projector along with it to get it to do anything. It comes with a fairly long cord but unless you have a wireless projector, I don't see HOW this is less cumbersome or limiting in terms of mobility. I am not even sure it would work if I had a wireless projector??? The chat paused and I gave up asking questions. EVERY response was it has to connected to a projector. The little bit I could see was poor quality. I could see myself and a stretchy screen that looked dated. Not at all like the videos... which made it look like it was "plug and play". It wasn't until customer service told me to look at page two and I discover that on page three (not two) of the user guide did I see it requires a projector. For EVERYTHING, according to Grace (The rep). REALLY? Even for live streaming??? WHY?

Don’t see why it has such great reviews by educators. The other person online sees words backwards. And customer service was of no help. Useless practically.

Très facile d'utilisation. Je peux l'utiliser pour l'enseignement à distance, diffuser sur mon TNI un travail à faire et l'expliquer live la marche à suivre, diffuser les pages d'un livre dont je raconte l'histoire, filmer des capsules en différé pour mes élèves... Le bras articulé me permet de mettre la caméra dans n'importe quelle position sans avoir peur qu'elle tombe ou se brise. C'est tellement plus facile pour faire les travaux en simultané avec les élèves! J'adore! Le seul point négatif est que lorsque je suis en Meet, en Zoom ou en Teams, l'image projetée que je vois à mon écran est inversée, ce qui n'est pas le cas pour les amis qui participent. Ils voient l'image comme il faut. Alors, si vous devez projeter quelque chose en classe, je vous suggère d'utiliser le logiciel.

My daughter is doing a Zoom class and was required to have this camera specially. It has been fantastic. It is easy to use, works well and seems to be very well made. We did have an issue and I contacted Hue directly. They were amazing to deal with and sorted out our issue quickly and to my complete satisfaction. I would highly recommend the camera and the company based on our experience.

Am using a MacBook Air and an external monitor and this works perfectly. I got this primarily because I wanted to maintain good eye contact during Zoom calls, so I place this in the middle of my external monitor Camera is good, loving the ability to manually focus. The microphone is not too fantastic, but not too bad. So, as long as you aren't expecting podcast quality, this gets the job done! If you need better audio, it's easy enough to plug in some wired earphones with built in mic for better sound quality.
