Miyasaka Brewery Co., Ltd. was founded in 1662. It all began with Ihei Arimasa Miyasaka, the 12th head of the Miyasaka family, who started a brewery at the city of Kamisuwa, Nagano, Japan. For the next 300 years, Miyasaka spent tremendous amounts of time to create a perfect sake “Masumi,” which today is highly regarded for its aroma, body, and rich taste. One of the secrets of this popularity lies in the company’s successful development of a special high-quality yeast. In 1916, the company put its experience of making Masumi to the production of Miso, featuring the Miko-chan trademark. In 1968, the latest technology concepts were introduced and successfully applied to the development of freeze-dried products. By considering what we eat from a variety of different perspectives, the company has been able to develop a popular range of new products. Our goal is to introduce this traditional and healthy Japanese food worldwide, in the most casual and convenient way.

Avoid this value pack
I should have read the other reviews more closely. This value pack isn't really worth it. Miyasaka makes other better quality instant soups that cost more. The problems with the value pack are:* No English on the package, other than the ingredients sticker which was added later.* Can't tell this difference between the packages.* Quality and quantity are less than the other better, higher priced packages of 8 soups.

Perfect for at work lunches when I don't have time ...
Perfect for at work lunches when I don't have time to go home or forget to bring a lunch. I like my miso soup a little stronger so I use about 2/3 of a cup of water for each packet instead of the recommended 1 cup. Very tasty!

Meh
Just okay - I won't be buying again. The Hikari Miso is much much better!http://smile.amazon.com/Hikari-Miso-_freeze-dried-Soup_4types-Sets/dp/B0081CIRCM?ie=UTF8&refRID=61DBJJ2ZPSPWXG0CT4P8&ref_=pd_cart_rp_2_1_p

Not a good value for the money and doesn't taste as good ...
30 packets of 4 different parts of the total preparation. The math isn't even right, because you'll have 2 packets left over. Not a good value for the money and doesn't taste as good as another brand I purchased.

Decent but small portions
These taste fine, but these are the smallest portion size of any packaged miso I've ever tried. So if oyu like small portions of miso, or don't mind it being watered down, then this is fine. But this is not a good value when compared with competitors.

Tastey
This is ok miso, much better than the dried packets, but not as good as the freeze dried (which is amazing).

Great value
Great value, much tastier than the three pack kikoman sold in grocery stores. Actually uses miso paste. Highly recommended.

Tasty
This soup is tasty but portions are small so you have to put two servings to make a normal portion. Priced right.
