Very Good!
I am a pro photographer and need lots of backup drive solutions and support.I have 4 G Drives that I use for backup and storage. IMO, G Drive makes the most reliable gear and attractive cases in the market. This little portable is great for on the go laptop backup. Fast, small, no external power needed.

sweet little drives
I bought 3 of these to use as backup drives on travel jobs. I can download images and then clone them so I have 3 copies. They get good reviews and work fine and the price is right....

Nice
This drive is a nice size and works flawlessly with my new MBA. Plug and play. Plug it in and Time Machine starts up and make a click and you are backing up your hard drive. No formatting, no hassle. Great size, compact and nice looking. I've been running my first backup and it's quiet and doesn't get all hot and bothered. The G-Drive makes backing up easy, and therefore more likely to happen.

Died after about seven months of use
Purchased October 1, 2015. It functioned perfectly using a variety of Macs with Time Machine backup software. On May 10, 2016, it failed, making a skritch, skritch, skritch sound like a record player at the end of the record. Note the return window is only 30 days. An item that costs $90 should last more than seven and a half months. There goes all the data, and the money as well. Big mistake.

Beware
The drive itself is great, this is the second one I have purchased. Which allows me to make a comparison. The first one I purchased came in the product box with all packaging included. This drive I purchased from Storite was just wrapped in foam and sealed in plastic. I can see some signs of use and there is some dirt/gunk in the recessed corners where the serial number is located on the bottom. My guess is this is a refurbished unit sold to me as new. It works fine...so far. Even if the unit performs fine I won't buy from Storite again for one very simple reason. I am an Amazon Prime member specifically so I don't have to go out and deal with the holiday rush. I like things sent to my doorstep, what could be easier. Storite sent me this drive via US Postal Service and they shipped it "signature required". Since I work of course I was not home. This meant the next day I had to go wait in line at the Post Office on my lunch hour to get my product. The Post Office! In December no less!!! Literally the very worst possible experience I could ever imagine. It took two hours and I was late getting back to my office. Nowhere within purchasing the unit did Storite mention it would be sent "signature required" and the previous one I purchased from another company was not sent "signature required". Apparently Storite has some issues on what it means to be an Amazon supplier. LOVE the G-Drive, Storite I give a big thumbs down.

Excellent companion to a MacBook Air
My wife's MacBook Air has a tiny 128GB SSD, which is superfast, but nowhere big enough to hold the hundred bazillion pictures she takes of the kids and her music collection. Enter the G-Drive. This svelte little drive is small enough that I can use some double-sided velcro tape and just velcro it to the lid of the Air. Add a short USB cable and --PRESTO!-- extra storage for music and photos. It does draw from the MacBook's battery so she keeps it unmounted and unplugged when not in use and sure it adds a little bit of bulk to the Air, but not so much you'd notice. And plus, when she fills it up (yes, *when*), I can replace it with a bigger drive with no muss or fuss.

Frustrating
The size and convenience are great. Fits nicely in case also. Travels well. HOWEVER, I constantly get an error that it was not disconnected properly even when it has not been disconnected. There is a problem with the cable connection. My daughter purchased one more recently and it looks and works exactly the same except the cable. The cable is shorter and has a different connection into the device. She has had no problems at all with hers.

This is the perfect compact hard drive
This is the perfect compact hard drive. I wanted something small and easy to use. This is it! Plug it into your mac and go. No need for formatting or anything. Works great with time machine on my MacBook Air. I was able to backup two laptops that had a large amount of files and pictures on them to this and still have a lot of storage space left.
