Viper 3100V alarm
Unit worked without any problem unlike the other brand I bought before it. Spent quite a bit of time studying how to wire it because the installation wiring instruction is not very clear. Tone is not that loud but it's good enough to deter.

High-quality, low-cost, no more worries
I'm very pleased with the alarm. It doesn't give false alerts and the ignition kill-switch makes it so even if someone has a key they can't start my truck. I had to pay to have it installed but it was simple. Anyone comfortable with their auto's electric system could install this alarm. I've used Viper Alarms in the past and I've always been pleased.

Professional install or do your research
Great for price and supplied with most hardware needed. The item should be installed by a knowledgeable person not for the rookie or novice. Relays needed for some options to work correctly and programming additional remotes does not work on some types of remotes check with maker to confirm compatibility

Works well, Recommend professional installation unless proficient in auto electrical systems
Installed this security system in my 2014 mustang convertible following a break in at night. had to get creative and buy a haynes repair manual and trace some of the wiring with a Fluke toner. I tapped into the accessories circuit (on with ignition key in start and run) for the yellow wire that goes to the ignition switch. Spliced in a 16 guage wire from positive battery terminal to red wire on alarm, placed fuse at battery, grounded the negative through the vehicle chassis. For the door sensor wire I tapped into the wire that turns the map lights on when a door is opened. Positive horn wire was long enough to reach through firewall by the hood latch cable without additional wire splicing, negative of horn to battery. Didn't use the ignition interrupt. Hid the alarm box under the carpeting. Took a good 4 hours or so to install and get working. Giving the car a shove with your elbow emits 3 loud chirps as a warning, before the full alarm. The full alarm is loud enough to arouse attention especially since my apartment complex is well lit.

Total security
Based on the videos that I’ve watched on YouTube looks like a very good alarm system, but I still haven’t installed it to make a confirmation on that.

Great basic system
I wanted a simple alarm with the ability to control door locks and trunk. I'm average to slightly above average in auto electronics. The supplied guide only tells you what wires do what on the alarm. I paid for a wiring diagram for my camry...under 20 dollars and after that connections were simple. Only extra items I needed were a relay for the trunk release and diodes to isolate door pins. Siren is weak so I connected to my horn. All works great with good range.

I fitted it into my 205 gti when I did an engine conversion as I had the dash already out. First off. And the instructions do not mention this. If you want some of the extra functions to work such as interior light illumination or additional accessories like windows go up when you lock. You will need relays. Be careful where you earth the alarm. When I terned my lights off the alarm would go off as I earthed it to the same earth block as the headlights. So I moved it, problem solved. Better instructions are avaliable for a different alarm (which is actually the same) type in “avital 3100 instructions” into Google and it’s the same alarm but instructions that actually are helpful. Other than that it seems ok. I’ve only driven the car twice and it was ok until I tried to tern the lights off then tern off the auto lock and alarm chirp then all hell broke loose. People say the alarm is quiet. It is not quiet at all. The install is quite involved you will need a multimeter and a box of electrical connections etc, but would be the same for any alarm. To sum it up for the price it is probably as good as any other and the remote is quite nice but it is very chineese. I would recommend installing a hidden switch on the siren earth that will stop the alarm sounding.
